From a bottle at home. The tower head on this had me wondering who was the boss. Used a tulip glass which may have compressed the rise to the barbershop foam thickness.

Once the show was out of the way, my first few sips were unimpressive, but I then cut a piece of cheese & apple & grabbed a few crackers. Rediscovered the delight of food & bev.

Cheese is done, apple core is turning brown on the board but I'm still nursing this last glass because I don't want it to end. Needs the chill. Buy, pour, eat, drink, repeat.

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace - 7.2% ABV Saison - BB March 2015 - Consumed October 24/2014.

A: Hazy bright yellow hue with one finger of white froth and strands of lacing on the Duvel glass. Head and lace retain for the duration of the beer. A great looking brew.

S: Yeasty, herbal, spicy and peppery aromas, slightly waxy, musty and phenolic, hint of perfume, lemongrass, dill, cut hay, and champagne (estery). A very unique, almost one-of-a-kind nose.

T: Wheat, lemongrass, must, herbal notes, yeast, faint waxiness, dill, balanced tartness coincides with spicy-peppery flavours and a dry, champange-like finish. Lemony-yeasty aftertaste lingers for a while. A respectable range of flavours, though not really my cup of tea.

M: Full side of medium-bodied, soft and creamy carbonation, spicy-peppery middle, mildly tart and drying finish with lemony-yeast afters. Good.

O: An interesting experiment that falls short IMO. The waxy, musty, and dill-like notes detract from the beer and muddle what is supposed to be a very "clean" style, and despite the stellar mouthfeel, the disparate aromas and flavours never come together in a cohesive way. I can see what they're trying to do here, but this one doesn't do much for me.

Serving: 12 oz bottle poured into a stemmed pilsner (beer tulip) glass.

Appearance: Pale, straw yellow with a slight haze. Frothy, rocky white head from lively carbonation, with a lasting cap of foam and intricate lacing.

Smell: Bright and refreshing; lemon zest, spicy Belgian yeast (peppercorns) and light malt.

Taste: Clean, smooth malt body (crackers), lightly tart lemon fruitiness, and spicy yeast. Hops add floral notes and light, dry bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light body with lively carbonation and clean finish.

Overall: Aromatic and flavorful while still crisp and refreshing, especially given its 7.6% ABV.

Poured a clear, straw color with about 2 fingers of marshmallow-soft white head. Aromas of the Belgian yeast (spicy and a hint peppery), some lemon grass, lemon, celery? This is a unique hop for sure. Delicious farm-style with really unique notes combined with well-intentioned balance. Slightly dry finish with some lingering notes of the lemongrass. This is a winner.
