Served from a tap into snifter glass at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Yonkers, NY.
A: Pours a hazy, bright straw to golden color with less than a half inch, white head. Low head retention and limited Belgian lacing.
S: Floral aroma initially, with bread and spice notes. Perhaps a whiff of citrus.
T: Pleasant taste of lemon/lemongrass most notable with a spicy zestiness (?ginger). Only mild bitterness, but does leave a tingling sensation on the palate.
M: Light to medium bodied, persistent effervescence.
O: Complex, subtle, and very balanced. Would definitely drink, serve, share. Really nice execution.

Golden colour, a bit cloudy, medium head, nice carbonation.
Fruite, flowery smell, honey also.
Taste of honey mainly, then ripped fruits, some citrus also. Fresh sensation, little bitterness.
A different from the usual hops with a very interesting feel.
Very refreshing, should be tried out.

Like this a lot! Refreshing without being watery. Lemony but without bitterness or sourness. The hops do not assault the palate.

I like the cloudy golden color. Leave a fair amount of lacing for those who care about such things. The smell is muted - what little I get is pleasant. The flavor is very, very nice. It tastes "bright." I supposed that's because of the lemon notes.

I will buy this again without hesitation. Now if I could only get Brooklyn to bring back their Monster Ale....

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a soft hazy burnt pale orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Lacing slid into the beer. The smell started off with some zesty lemon pulp and rind leading into nice sweet lemongrass tones. Some peppercorn helps to balance in a nice spicy sort of way. The Belgian yeast helps to add a light little bit of breadiness as it warms. The taste offers the nice zesty appeal flowing over the sweet and spiciness of the previously mentioned flavors. A dry citrusy aftertaste leads into a sweet dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable feel to it. Carbonation rises softly allowing the bitterness of the citrus rind being the harshness on my tongue. Overall, I actually went into this with low expectations, and it turned out better than I had thought. I’d have this again.

Beautiful unfiltered golden look. Smell is yeast dominated, to me it smells like bread after the first prove before you shape it ... raw bready yeast smell? Palate starts off that way before citrus hops come in with some nice flavours and then bitterness. Had this one from a six pack (very fresh in NY), but also paired with a clam bake/chowder dish at Eleven Madison Park, just before it closed recently. A classy beer for sure. Saison not one of my favourite styles, but this one i like a lot.

semi-opaque straw yellow. Head is fingernail-thin but steady. Lots of lacing as well.

smells grainy and earthy. Lemon. Strong alcohol presence. Ginger? Or maybe something like wasabi?

taste is pretty sweet upfront, nicely balanced by the bitterness. Cocoa/coffee. Very nice earthy-grainy/fruity contrast. Apple, strawberry.

Medium body, fizzly carbonation.

I like it.

Yellow in color and lightly cloudy. There's a fingernail of bright white on top. Moderate lacing. The aroma is of earthy saison yeast along with some light citrus and lemon. There's a lot of flavor going on here. I detected lightly sweet pale malt, citrus, earthy and peppery saison yeast, and coriander. The mouth is moderately carbonated and crisp.

I'm tasting vodka. I'm tasting fireflies & the poetry of Basho.
I'm also tasting white pepper, licorice, & lemongrass, mixed together in a cocktail that doesn't exist.
In a farmhouse, a candle has just been blown out. The smoke rises & the smell mixes with the wooden slats of the ceiling.
This is the taste of that smell.
A burnt match, a skunk. The smell of a basketball mixed with bubble gum.
It goes down easy, but the linger feels permanent. Like a shade of mouthwash at the dentist's office after the swallow.
I like it but am not sold on it. Despite that, I will give it another try, if only because the taste of Japan in Brooklyn is uncommon.

This is unique. Lots of carbonation. Cloudy. Hay color which belies the ample flavor. Pours with a great big head that slowly fades to lace. Something slightly sour-ish about the flavor (not necessarily in a bad way--just trying to find words to describe it). I assume that is coming from the Sorachi Ace hop, which I've never had. Or maybe a combo of the Ace with the saison style yeast? Lots of complex flavors going on here, making it hard to pinpoint any one. My response isn't "I love it." Nevertheless I keep coming back for another taste. Maybe "intriguing" is the right word. I will try this beer--and this hop--again.
