A: Extremely pale yellow with tons of bubbles streaming up the glass. Head is a beautiful white color with the consistancy if beaten eggwhites.

S: Wow. This thing is fragrant. Just like they claim. It's allemon grass and lemon zest. Lots of spice and grassiness.

T: Very spicey and fruity. Lots of lemon grass. The Belgian yeast is nice.

M: Lightbodied. Very refreshing and super easy to drink. Tons of carbonation pulls everything together.

Overall: A very interesting take on the saison. Very fruity and refreshing. The drinkability is tremendous.

Bottle was a bit pricey - I think I paid $14.99 at either Olivers or Westmere Beverage.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip from the 750 ml - caged and corked and a nice presentation (gold foil-type label with maroon accents). Slight gunsmoke after the "pop!" Body is light golden with a 3-finger white head that retains well, fading eventually to a rocky foam. Lots of visible carbonation, as bubbles gusher forth and rise throughout the glass. Some foamy lace sticks to the side of the glass.

S: Somewhat bready, somewhat lemony. Not terribly strong in the nose, but what's there is pleasant. And clean (if that makes sense). A bit of spice noted as it warms.

T: Interesting. A touch of lemony bitterness is noted right away, but the bitterness is nicely balanced with - or offset by - both a sweetness and a faint bit of drying. There's also a touch of spice in there too - some sort of exotic basil, perhaps? Whatever it is, it adds to the experience rather than make you wonder, "WTF is THAT doing in my beer?" I get a tiny bit of heat from the alcohol in the belly, but it took a few sips (half the glass, actually) for that to appear. Becoming somewhat vinuous as it warms. . . .

M: Lighter side of medium in heft. Active, but soft, carbonation.

D: Excellent drinkability. Balanced but light, active-but-subtle carbonation make this one a winner. I wish I had the proper cheese to go with this (not sure what that would be -- someone ask Garrett Oliver -- but I'm pretty sure this would go very well with the right cheese). I have a feeling this would go nicely with a variety of lighter foods - maybe certain Thai, seafood, or even a lighter chicken or pasta dish with a cream sauce.
