Muted mango and tangerine, with a slight earthiness and a bit of citrus rind bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, as is carbonation. Finish is grassy and muted. Overall, very easy-drinking but unremarkable IPA.

12 oz can, best by 8/2021, into White Elm Willie.

Medium gold, hazy; stable creamy cap of 1 finger, slight rings of lacing.

Aroma of hop oxidation and wet cereal; some lemon peel and dried orange peel. A hint of marshmallow.

Flavor is wet pine needle, dried lemongrass, dried lemon and orange peels, perfume, and hop oxidation.

Feel is semi-juicy, hard, busy carbonation, mild heat, crisp dry finish.

Overall, with a BBD of August 2021 I figured I was safe, but I am guessing they dated this a year out because this beer is totally spent. I don't care what it tastes like fresh, because a beer this faded a whopping four months before its expire date is unacceptable. Gross, will not revisit.

Price paid : $1.89 / can

Poured into a nonic pint. Golden, surprisingly clear pour.

L: 3.25 a lot more clarity than anticipated for a hazy IPA. Carbonation is easily visible when exposed to light. More transparent than translucent. Color leans more towards a classic IPA.
S: 3.25 Viney. Resinous. Malt. Citrus. But nothing that really jumps at your nostrils.
T: 3.25 Not juicy. Surprisingly malt forward. Can this really be classed as a NE IPA?
F: 3.5 thin to medium mouthfeel.
O: 3.25 nothing special worth going out of your way to acquire. I think BB's other IPAs are better products. I wouldn't even call this a NE IPA.

BB date: 09/2021

Barely-hazy orangey gold, with about 1/2 finger of white head.

Smell is a vague fruitiness, with some malt and yeast aromas. Nothing specific stands out.

Taste is mostly orange rind, with maybe a hint of lime zest. Moderate bitterness, that lingers after finish.

Feel is medium, with a burst of moderately-sharp carbonation bite, that quickly fades. Drying finish, that approaches, but thankfully, stops short of cardboard or artificial sweetener.

Overall, it's not unpleasant, but just doesn't have enough going for it to be satisfying, or enjoyable. It's entirely forgettable , and I'm glad I only got a single.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a moderately hazy light orange color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, fading slowly over time to leave a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a tangerine smell mixed with some nice aromas of a raw herbal hop nature. Along with these smells comes notes of mango and pineapple sweetness as well as a bit of caramel. Other hop aromas of some light pine and earth are there as well, mixing with the tropical fruit and a touch of lemon, to produce a rather inviting smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a tangerine and grapefruit hop flavor mixed with a little bit of mango and papaya. As the taste advances some herbal dankness comes to the tongue, along with a bit of earthiness. All the while the tropical fruit gets initially stronger while the grapefruit hop dwindles a bit. Toward the end the sweeter fruits fade a bit, and with a light hay flavor and more dankness, one is left with a moderately tropical and dank hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness with a carbonation level that is on the slightly higher side. Overall, the feel is OK and allows the flavors to be well showcased all while keeping the brew very easy drinking.
Overall – A good easy drinking hazy IPA. A fun one to try if you have the chance.

Look - 12 oz can poured into a half pint glass. Light orange in color, slightly cloudy, and a one finger head with some lacing retention.

Smell - a lot of sweet notes, reminiscent of bubble gum/cotton candy. some tropical fruits and citrus as well.

Taste - juicy hops. virtually no bitterness, with some floral characteristics + light malts detectable. flavors profile is generally light.

Feel - medium bodied, average carbonation, and average (if not slightly below) for the hazy style in booze at 6.5%.

Overall - this is not at all a bad beer, but because this style is so populated, it does not stand out by any means. easy drinking, tasty, but unmemorable for a hazy.

Golden color, kind of hazy--was expecting that grapefruit juice look, but there was much more clarity than that. I was also expecting a juicy NEIPA type beer when Pulp and Hazy were in the name. It really wasn't that way. This IPA had a fairly simple citrus profile that had bite with little nuance. Pleasant-tasting? Yes. Mis-named and misleading? Definitely.

Poured a cloudy gold with a 3 finger head. Smell is mango, grapefruit and pine. Taste follows along with some sweetness and bread. Goes down pretty smooth. A little watery. Not a bad NEIPA.

Pours only slightly hazy straw yellow thick white cap that falls fast but leaves decent lacing. Aroma is almost non-existent tropical notes. Flavor follows, also very mild. Feel is light bodied, almost watery. Overall a disappointment from an otherwise fine brewery.

12 ounce can with a best by date of 8/2021. Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

L---Opaque, rich golden color. Mild, white head that faded quickly to a cap and left gorgeous lacing.

S---Sweet & fruity. Tropical notes.

T---Papaya & passion fruit. Just generally juicy.

F---Medium bodied. Carbonation is ok. Feels wet.

O---A nice effort. I'd definitely have another.

Pours a golden orange color with a decent two finger head of foam. I'd consider this "hazy"; but it's still translucent and probably slightly filtered if I had to guess.

Aroma: It has that distinctive Brooklyn brewery malt + yeast profile upfront; slightly waxy and dank with some notes of caramel and faintly fruity banana. Mostly just bitter grapefruit and clementine on the nose however.

Taste: Clean and dry with hoppy notes of pine needles and semisweet flavors of orange and sweet grapefruit. Very light caramel and banana flavor going on in the background. Hints of pineapple. Short arrival and development of flavors, just slightly.

Feel: A little thin but still quite dry and hoppy. Light-mid body. Medium carbonation. Refreshing and fairly sessionable. This would go well with almost any kind of meal.

Overall: Yeah I could drink this. There's good flavor here. It's great at what it is, and from what I'm reading on their website they were going for a "beer for the people" or something with a little more mass appeal when they brewed this. I could see how this could appeal to people who might be new to craft beer, while at the same time being an okay budget / session beer for those more experienced.

I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this but if there was nothing else on the shelf but this, I wouldn't be that upset.

Gold in color with a light haziness. There’s a solid inch of frothy beige on top. The aroma is of lime, lemon, and melon. I’m tasting lemon, melon, and lime. The mouth is refreshing and smooth.

CAN from Brooklyn's IPA for all variety box/12-pack. The whole pack ran me $17.99 USD plus tax at a Total Wine & More in Metairie, Louisiana.

"Hazy IPA." 6.5% ABV. BB 08/2021. "Fruit flavors from hops." Brewed with Citra, Strata, and Simcoe hops.

Served chilled into a stemless wine glass.

Hop profile is mediocre. Harps on a generic warm tropical fruit flavour profile with notes of tangerine, mango, and guava. Pale malt and probably wheat malt subdue any concomitant hop bitterness.

Underwhelming, with poor hop pungency and shallow depth of hop flavour.

Drinkable but not a top tier IPA by any stretch. Has less hop flavour than Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale.

Pours a slightly hazy toasted straw color with a big soapy white head that has nice retention.

The aroma is of citrus hops, tangerine and some pine. Not a very robust aroma.

The taste is of orange and melon. The malt brings notes of light bread and honey. Again, not very robust.

The feel is light and sturdy on the palate. Lightly sweet on the palate. Weakish carbonation. Drinks easy.

Average tropical IPA. Doesn't quite meet the NE IPA standards. Good enough.
