A: [4.00] A reddish hued brown beer. Forms a nice full finger of off white head. The head settles pretty quickly just leaving a ring clinging to the glass. The bottle lists the ABV (5.5%) and a best by date of (02/01/16).

S: [3.75] Holiday spices. Nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel, toffee, apples.

T: [4.00] Similar to the nose. Cinnamon, caramel, toffee.

M: [3.75] Very smooth with just a tingle of carbonation.

O: [3.75] This is a really nice Oktoberfest. It makes me nostalgic for the the holidays with the scents and tastes of nutmeg, cinnamon, and sweets. There is enough malt to balance out the other flavors that have been added. This is a very successful beer I will drink more of this next year!

Orange to amber in colour. Thin light brown head.
Odour of sherry trifle.
Not as rich tasting as the nose suggests. Sweet and fruity with caramel malt.
Rather thin at the finish.

Probably the most drinkable Oktoberfest beer I've ever had. Usually I'm not a huge fan of the style but I loved Brooklyn Brewery's other offerings so I wanted to give this one a shot and I'm so glad I did! Fantastic beer I would drink this again for sure.

Poured from the bottle with a best before date of January 2016 into a pint glass yesterday. Comes out a dark amber, with a small head that fizzles out. Smell is very sweet, malty, fruity. Taste is somewhat like a marzen, but with a bit too much sweetness. Lots of caramel and fruit, some lager notes. It's just a hair too much on the body and doesn't have that crisp aftertaste this style should have. It has no bad qualities, just misses the mark.

Brooklyn Brewery "Oktoberfest"
12 oz. brown glass bottle, Best By date illegible

Appearance: Clear deep copper body beneath a rocky head of khaki. Average head retention and lacing.

Aroma: Toasty Vienna malt. Limited background grassy and spicy hops.

Flavor: Grainy, bready, toasty malt. Moderate golden caramel. Fruity with some raisin in the finish. The hops don't particularly show but you know they're there. Median bitterness of around 22 IBUs leaves it well-balanced. Dry finish as the malt quickly dissipates.

Mouthfeel: Standard medium body and carbonation.

Overall: A very nicely done, authentic Märzen "Oktoberfest".

Pours a nice dark amber color with a teeny head. Has a fruity smell reminiscent of apples. Flavor is very fruity, with a caramel/apple taste at the start and a raisin-y taste on the back end. Very minimal hops. Overall not a bad beer by any measure, just a nice, sweet Oktoberfest brew.

10/31/15 Patsy's NYC

Pours dark Amber out of a bottle. Thin head and not a whole lot going on.

The sme is kind of dry fruit. Something kind of stands out a little bit can't think of what it is. Not horrible. Kind of has a weak Belgium smell to it.

The taste is kind of a sweet raisen. It's ok, but would like more malt on this. Kind of 1 dementional. It is a little thin on the feel as well.

This beer is kind of a weak attempt I feel. It's not bad tasting but it lacks everywhere else to make it into something I want again.
