This beer pours a clear, pale gold with no heaad or lace. It's aroma is of lemons, bread and a hint of vanilla. The flavor is lemony with grass and well balanced malt and hops. The mouthfeel is light and smooth, just right for the style. Brooklyn Pilsner is a good brew and a great match for sourdough pretzels. Recommended!

Not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. Not to say it was bad, it was fine. Just not as good as I expected.
Soft graininess in both the aroma and taste. Rather predominent. Hop flavors notable, but not necessarily pleasing to my palate. Bitterness a little subdued.
Attractive, of course, with a slightly cloudy appearance and bright white head.
Feel was all right - soft, a little heavy and not as crisp and clean as I'd expect for style.
I like so many of Brooklyn's beers - this trends towards the bottle of the list.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass. Bottle says best by July 2012.

Appearance: Pours a bright and clear golden yellow with lots of rising bubbles. Solid three fingers of white head with very good retention. Lots of lacing sticking around the glass.

Smell: Lots of fairly sweet cracker like malts and wheat grains. Subtle hints of lemon zest. Has a pretty noticeable presence of grassy hops in the background. A pretty grainy and somewhat spicy aroma.

Taste: Big taste of pale bready malts and wheat grains up front. Some moderate hints of lemon zest. Also a fairly spicy presence of earthy and grassy hops. Some of the hops taste like Noble hops. A very nice hop presence for the style. Well balanced.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Very crisp and somewhat tangy. Starts fairly sweet and finishes dry.

Overall: A very nice take on a Pilsner. One of the better American versions out there. Very good hop presence.

Poured into a pilsner glass.

4.0 A: Golden yellow color. Two fingers of foamy white head. Retention is good and a sizeable ring of lacing is left.

3.0 S: Dry, grainy dustiness. A lot of neutral malt aroma. Not much in terms of hops though. Fairly simple, even by pils standards. Clean.

3.0 T: Same as the nose. Grainy with neutral maltiness. Soft grassy hoppiness. Clean.

3.5 M: Light body. Good moderate carbonation. Clean and crisp.

3.0 D: Good, but nothing impressed me.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Pilsner glass.

Appearance: Clear, light yellow with very active bubbles, a strong white cap and great lacing rings.

Smell: Grainy and sweet, with apple and straw, and some slight dry spiciness.

Taste: Drier (and better) than indicated by the aroma. Tart apple, straw, and peppery hops interplay very nicely.

Feel: Fairly light body with moderately high carbonation and a very dry finish.

Overall: Very nice everyday Pilsner that happens to be better than most of the competition, American or German.

12oz bottle, pours yellow with nice clarity and a thin white head that leaves decent lacing on the glass. Aromas are Pilsner malt, slight fruit, and slight herbal hop. Tastes are nice a fruity with a solid Pilsner malt presence, and nice herbal hop finish. Refreshing and easy to drink. Nice take on a classic style.

Very nice solid take on a pilsner. A bit darker than your average, but not by much. The aroma and flavor both showcase the malts, but are balanced well by some spicy hops. Very good. Perhaps not in my top 5 US pilsners, but very well done if you are a pilsner fan.

12 oz bottle poured into pilsner glass. Bottle says best by March 2012, so I'm just in time.

A: Pours a crystal clear yellow-orange, decent carbonation, and a one finger head. Some nice lacing on the glass.

S: The aroma is of malt, bread and a little bit of apple.

T: Very clean and refreshing, with a nice amount of bitterness that I couldn't pick up on the nose. Well balanced with the bready malts.

M: Stylistically appropriate light to medium mouthfeel.

Very well balanced and refreshing beer; I could easily finish the whole 6-pack. I think I like this even better than their Lager.

12oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.

(A)- Pours a hazy orange color. Produced a cap of white froth.

(S)- A deep grain-like profile. Bits of spicy lemon and honey.

(T)- Similar to the smell. A deep, mildly spicy grain profile with lemon and an almost murky caramelized malt base.

(M)- A good carbonation level. A good balance too, though perhaps not as crisp as the style is, but a bit more malt-heavy.

(D)- Not bad. I could drink a few of these, but again, a bit heavier malt-wise for the style.
