Beer notes from 6/15/13; on tap at the Gramercy Tavernin NYC: pours slightly hazy amber gold color with a foamy 2 finger white head that faded slowly and left good lacing and as it went down.

Smells like a tangerine, orange peel and piney hops, mixed with light grains, caramel, earthy notes and grass; very light smelling, like a nice summer beer.

Tastes like an IPA and pilsner were mixed together, with piney hops, citrus hops, lemon, orange peel, mild grapefruit, grass, hints of caramel, light bready notes and an overall beer crispness like a fresh German pilsner had some West Coast hops dropped in it for near perfect balance. The low ABV made it dangerously easy to drink and I downed two pints in about a half hour before dinner.

Mouthfeel was very light and crisp, with mild carbonation, a light body and outstanding drinkability; this is a definite session beer that has everything I look for in a quality beer on tap, especially when it's hot out. This was perfect for trying a new beer with flavor while standing at the bar waiting to be seated and engaging in conversation.

Overall I thought that this was great and I hope that someone from Brooklyn Brewery reads this review and keeps this beer in the year-round rotation and not just a one off Brewmaster’s Reserve experiment. This beer was excellent and deserves an encore.

Another session "style" IPA out there, had on tap at Sessions.Poured a slightly hazed apricot color with a tight formed half finger white head that sat for a longtime.Aromas of juicy citrus fruits, orange and not overly bitter grapefruit,a firm not overly sweet biscuit malt base is on par with the hops.Thinner feel and kinda slick doesn't lend itself well to the flavor profile.Light citric hops along with some herbal notes up against a biscuit malt base.No frills and a little thin in the feel but not horrible by any means.

Brooklyn scorcher - served on tap at The Office in Morristown NJ.

Pours medium dark amber bronze. Thick white foam. Bright pine nose. Citrus and flowery too. Taste is light citrus malt woven with a minor hop. Quite Lemony. Crisp finish. Very tasty summer beer, most enjoyable. Good hop to be noticed, but not overwhelmning. 4 4 425 375 4

Appearance: sunny yellow, slight haze, mostly transparent though, with a near bone white head. Looks decent.

Aroma: lightly lemony, faint citrus, and the buck stops there.

Taste: light lemon/citrus, nearly nonexistent.

Mouthfeel: I know the ABV is low, but this is Michelob Ultra watery.

Overall: sad, sad beer. I had a Green Flash Surfs up before this and thought it was sort of average...I appreciate it a lot more after this.
