The most approachable of our ales, Brawler is malt forward and delicately hopped for a knockout flavor. Its smooth character, hints of caramel and toast, and remarkable drinkability define this ruby colored brew as a true session ale. Perfect when you want to go more than a few rounds.

Was pleasantly surprised by what came out of the bottle. Deep beer in color, caramel.amd toffee, nice English floral hops, lower end of carbonation. Very drinkable.

Looks- nice red coppery color, small 1/4 inch off white head, little retention, some lacing.
Smell- malty sweet floral smell, but light, not overpowering.
Taste- Clean finish, good balance. Slightly spicy floral notes.
Feel- a little thin, high carbonation, but that's being picky.

Overall I love this brew. I'm not an IPA guy, I like mild ales. Tastes like beer, but not like you're chewing hops. I will certainly get this again, as it's easy to drink and reasonably priced.

This is an excellent beer. Warm, bready, malty flavor. Actually pretty good from the bottle, but excellent in a glass. Lacks the fruity/estery quality of English bitters and milds, but that's actually kind of welcome in this beer. I'd imagine if you're judging it as a beer in its own right and not as an exemplar of a style, then the lack of fruitiness is a good thing.

Most of the hops are bittering, with maybe a little flavor.

A bit overcarbonated for the style--which, again, is not really a big deal.

Sampled February 2017 from draft tap in pint glass. Drank it at a tavern, so not sure of drink by date.

Appearance: Dark brown color, medium size tan head that lasted for a long time. Nice thick lacing and remnants on the side of the glass from the head.

Smell: Sweet & malty with some toasted coffee aromas, also some hop bitterness. Some nut and caramel aroma as well.

Taste: Medium-bodied with nice balance of malt and hops and alcohol. Dominated by caramel, chocolate, coffee and burnt malt flavors, but with a little bitterness and kick from the hops. There are also sweet flavors like honey. Overall an interesting combination, but dominated by the sweet flavors.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, but very smooth. Mouth feel matched the 4.0% published by the brewer.

Overall: Nice brown ale. Easy to drink, and also has some interesting and a variety of flavors. A good drinking brown ale.

Amber brown with creamy off white head. Nutty malt aroma with noticeable sweetness to it. This carries to the taste. Pretty full bodied, somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Like a slightly milder Brooklyn Brown. Maybe a tad sweet, but very easy drinking.

12 oz pour on tap into a nonic pint

A: Not much of a head but there was a little off white trace. Body is a rich brown, caramel with good clarity.

S: Rich notes of caramel, toffee, light nuttiness, and some doughy breads

T: Follows the nose closely with maybe some light honey added in quite a bit going on in this and maybe a little bit of a raisiny finish.

M: creamy smooth lighter without being watery.

O: This beer has a ton of flavor packed into a tiny ABV. It's easy to drink with lots of robust flavors. I would get this again and again.

Yards Brewing Co. Brawler, English pub ale
Look: Dark brown with white head. Good carbonation, but not too much there which fits into the style.
Smell: There is really not much going on with the smell. I didn't smell much of anything.
Taste: It is a super smooth malty beer with notes of caramel and some nutty flavors. There is a light sweetness and some roasyness to it. I don't taste a ton of hops per se, but it does have a slightly bitter finish which may be hops, or roasty bitterness. I love the malty aspects of this beer. They have really done well with that. The only thing that would put it over the top is if it had a bit more of an aroma to it.
Feel: Smooth and light, but a decent body.
Overall: A great session beer, but also just a good malt foreward beer with alot of flavor. I will have this again most likely soon.
