A very nice hoppy ipa. Very smooth with just the right amount of malt. This goes down very well. Great aroma and a smooth finish. A great IPA from Yrds.

I’ve been a fan of Yard’s Brewing and so I am excited to try this one. I’ve seen that this one is 8.10% ABV and is an American Double/Imperial IPA.

Look-It pours a crisp golden and crystal clear quality, but with ample carbonation and a thin film head that leaves tenuous if even noticeable lacing.

Smell-The smell is herbal/pine and citrus hops that a grain malt base that can be easily discerned.

Taste-The taste starts out with bitter hops ripe with pineapple rind and orange peel zest. It has a noticeable astringency that mingles with mango flavors which then leads me to believe that this brew has a mild West Coast style hop aspect that I didn’t expect. I also pick up on some lemon peel zinginess that mixes with a resinous and alpha-acid flavor.

Mouthfeel-This one is a thick, but medium-bodied brew with ample carbonation and a pleasant bite from the alcohol.

Overall-This brew was great and I was glad that they had not produced something that was too syrupy or sweet. The citrus hops were accompanied by bitterness that led to a true Imperial IPA experience. Cheers!

12 oz bottle. Clear bright amber, fluffy white head, fades slowly, lots of lace. Mild aroma of fresh bread and fruit. Caramel malt sweetness up front followed by piney hops. Very clean taste but with an alcohol burn at the end. Overall solid DIPA, malty sweet and clean.
