Appearance - The beer radiated a pleasant black coffee color with a mocha colored head.

Smell - The nose was dry chocolate with little sweetness noted.

Taste - The initial taste was syrupy, but not overly sweet chocolate. Toward the back, the chocolate becomes powdery, leaning toward baker’s chocolate. The dry presence carries into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - The carbonation seemed to steal away the sweetness too quickly.

Overall - Though it is not sweet enough to be a dessert beer, it has a solid chocolate presence.

Hey black color, just above average carbonation but with a medium creamy feel. Aroma is roasted coffee and malt with milk chocolate. Taste is identical,a little more complex than the aroma. A very good stout that I would get again

Sampled the new 2017 version from a bottle at the brand new 5th & Spring Garden location. A little bit of sprice is noticeable in this awesome sweet stout. Way better than the regular ol’ Love Stout, yall, The new place is pretty dope too!

Yards Love Stout, 6.9% brewed with dark chocolate and sensual malts
S: from the bottle sweet chocolate, from the glass a bit skunky
L: Pitch black with a tan head
T: Chocolate and then this skunky taste, the chocolate is not sweet, just like pure cocoa, or cacao nibs. I think this
beer doesn't stand the test of time because it went very bad. I think the place where I bought it had it sitting for a long time. I got it on special and that is the reason why it tastes bad.
F: medium
Overall: I am guessing that maybe this beer doesn't taste skunked if it wasn't left out too long. Although, I have had some stouts that had been sitting around for 8 months and they were still very good. All I know is this just doesn't taste right.

12 oz. bottle poured into a nonic style pint glass.

Pours nice and black showing a little light around the root beer edges. I ended up with almost two fingers of light brown, foamy head that yields good lacing and slowly settles to a quarter finger.

The nose is robust and full of chocolate and coffee aromas along with notes of vanilla and caramel malts. It tastes in line with the nose but unfortunately not nearly as robust. The flavors are there but taste a bit watered down. Not to say the taste is bad, it's just a little disappointing after the rich aroma. Medium to full in body it is creamy and very smooth.

Definitely an easy drinking stout. The kind you can enjoy several of in one session.

On tap at Bonds Tavern in West Orange. Pours a jet-black, ebony hue with moderate frothing. Strong aroma replete with hints of mocha, espresso, and chocolate. Good stuff.
