Our first dry hopped Belgian-style IPA, we brew Cicada with a classic Belgian yeast strain and local wildflower honey, making it a truly indigenous ale. Subtle bubble gum notes from the yeast balance a smooth, caramel maltiness. Both citrus and earthy flavors round out this full-bodied, complex beer. Our buzzworthy brew will leave quite the impression on you, just like its namesake, which engulfs the mid Atlantic region every 17 years.

Pours a clear dark straw color and forms a long lived frothy white bubbly head that laced the walls of the glass.
Minor nose. It's hard to believe this is an IPA-- it's a minor IPA or a "lite" IPA. I'm skeptical that it's an IPA.
There's a certain amount of hops flavor and an underpinning of malt, but while the beer has a certain muscular flavor profile it's just not what I'd expect from an IPA.
I'm not certain what "Belgian Style" means-- maybe that's the reason it's a "lite" IPA.
I like Belgian beers but I can't find a connection with "Belgium" and Yards'... maybe I'm just in a frumpy mood..
I'd think I'd serve this IPA to someone newly enamored of craft beer.
Maybe it's also a beer when you want something with a stronger flavor stance but don't want to full one-two punch of a strong IPA.
I'm not disappointed with this beer although I would have loved to have tasted a much more muscular flavor and a much strong mouthfeel than what this beer provided.
What's that old cliche? "Where's the beef?"..

On draft this beer served up a light amber color with a thin white head that stuck around nicely. Aroma of citrus, honey, floral, light cracker and a yeast strain that is ripe with fruity esters. Smooth taste follows aroma and finishes very balanced with honey notes complementing the floral and spicy notes. Overall easy drinker and smooth for the 8.5% abv. I would definitely get this again.

Apparently much better at the source based on other's reviews. Dank on the nose, delicious in the mouth. Enjoy.
