Can: Poured a golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with some retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops notes with some dry bitter notes. Taste is also a mix of citrusy hops notes with a medium bitter finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. English style IPA with medium level of bitterness.

You wanna talk chthonic beers? Look no further than this session IPA from Moat Mtn, a local favorite of mine. Enriched in citrus and pine, this IPA was a great pairing for a smokey bonfire with friends. I actually appreciate that they held back on too much body or trying to do too much with this one ; this makes it incredibly drinkable. Sometimes it’s a good thing to not be blown away by your drink, especially if you need to drive home after your ‘session’. Cheers!

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a hazy orange-amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving just a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell –The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a citrus smell with a good showing of tangerine and orange and a bit of grapefruit. Along with these smells comes some nice tropical fruit aromas as well as a slightly doughy smell.
Taste – The taste is not what I was expecting. It did not have a strong tangerine or tropical fruit taste, but instead began with a bready and cracker malt flavor that had a decent showing of some grapefruit and herbal hop. As the taste advanced forward some earthy hop flavors begin to develop at the expense of the citrus, and in the end, leave one with a somewhat dank and malty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is moderate in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather normal overall. For the mix of dank and malty flavors the feel was pretty nice, accentuating both but not allowing either to overpower.
Overall – An alright more dank IPA, but nothing worth going out of your way for…

Dated 7/16/19 on the bottom, 3.5 weeks since brewing.
Pours an unfiltered light yellow straw with two fingers of ever so slightly off-white head. Nose of candied lemon, nectarine candy, white bread crust and powdered florals. Taste is majority white bread crust with very distant spice and a whisper of that candied citrus from the nose. A very subtle brew that I really had to pull notes out of. Light+ body, very light bittering and almost no drying. I could see crushing bunches and bunches of this on a sweltering day but there's better choices to do that with.
