Sampled on tap at the brewpub on October 9, 2012.

I have to admit that blueberry brews are difficult for me to review because although I love blueberries by themselves, I am not fond of them in beer. In this case it poured a hazy looking straw-yellow tone.

The aroma tends to be more on the buttery side than bringing out a blueberry character.

The body was thin to medium.

Where the blueberry nose fell down it rebooted itself in the taste as the blueberries were much more notable there. But there was still a kind of slick, buttery flavor which ultimately ended with a slight hop note and a lingering astringency. As far as the style goes there are others I prefer.

Nice wheaty kolsch style beer with light to medium blueberry taste. The blueberries are more subtle and nuanced in this beer than in other blueberry beers that I have had. Tasty. I could do several pints.

On tap in a sample glass.

Appearance: Orange/Copper color and cloudy with a white head.

Smell: Sweet honey smell and wheat. No blueberries really.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied beer. I could taste the blueberries and wheat.

Overall: I would have to say this was one of the better blueberry beers I have had so far.

Hazy golden pour with thin, clingy white coating. Aroma is the best part - seems natural rather than flavored. Flavor is okay, but underwhelming blueberry there. Fairly smooth and clean, just not amazing.

Labor Day weekend reviews, so far.

A- Out of the tallboy goes a pale pink brew into my goblet. A white head forms just over one finger retaining decently. A small ring results and it leaves only spotty lace.

S- Reminds me immediately of a blueberry pancake with a moderate sweetness and the berry flavoring. Not really that much going on here.

T- The blueberry flavoring is dominant again and it reminds me of a taste I would find in a soda. Medium barley sweetness, yeast bread, a hint of tartness and pale fruit esters.

MF- Moderately carbonated light-medium overall body. The texture is slightly foamy frothy and it does come off as thin at times.

Nothing bad but also nothing I would probably go back to. The blueberry flavor is very obviously from a flavoring but at least it is somewhat balanced in.

Pours a dark, dulled gold color with minimal cap of white froth. Scent is a balanced mix of tart blueberry and tangy wheat with faint notes of banana and bread yeast. Taste brings a stronger blueberry presence, more tart than sweet which is a plus. Solid tangy wheat and mild bread yeasts in the background. Lighter side of medium bodied, active carbonation. A decent beer with strong blueberry notes but could use a bit more in the wit/heffe front.

i usually (always) don't like stuff in my beer. like fruit ('cept for pumpkin). my girlfriend orders this when they have it (usually summer. duh) so one day i sipped a bit of hers and it wasn't bad. not bad at all.

i do like blueberries (i know where some good patches are on moat mountain itself). and this does taste of good blueberries.

i'll take sips of hers again.

Pours a two finger white head that fades quickly leaving some lace. Hazy straw color. Light carbonation and light bodied. Light blueberry nose and flavor is light tart blueberry, balanced bitterness. A little watery, could use more blueberry. $8.99 for a 22oz bottle from Glen Beverage Glen, NH.

Poured from a bomber into a tumbler pint, the beer is a hazy, pale, orange-highlighted yellow coloring with a steady flow of carbonation bubbling and a tall, frothy, light, foamy white head that starts at almost two inches, but eventually settles out into a thin, filmy covering. Aromas are grainy, with a subtle hint of blueberry sweetness and an overall toasting quality. The flavors are muddled, with a light grain and cereal toasting in the background and a tart, light blueberry highlight. The flavors are a little light and unbalanced for my personal tastes, as there are some really good blueberry beers out there. The aftertaste is a little more balanced, with more of a fruit sweetness present. The finish is quick and clean, without much linger, which is good for a fruit based brew. Decent, but again, there are some really strong blueberry beers out there.
