Our version of this classic export ale. We started with copious amounts of 2-row malt as well as imported roast, chocolate and black malts. Our hop bill of Chinook, Williamette and EK Goldings was also increased this year. With these changes, we anticipate an extended period of maturation and a longer window of peak flavor in the cellar. Look for this when we have the shortest daylight of the year!

Pours dark, near black with quickly disappearing tan head leaving it naked on top. At least this allows the rich roasted aroma to come through in force. Flavor has some nice roast with hints of chocolate up front, and a very smooth mouthfeel, but is followed by a slightly astringent finish which detracts - it makes me take another sip, but for the wrong reason.

Very drinkable. Not particularly complex, but a very solid Stout. I would get this one again.

I got a 4 pack of tallboys at the brewhouse in New Hampshire.
Pours a dark black with almost no head. Very little carbonation. Thick syrupy mouthfeel.
Tastes of chocolate and coffee. Light bitter hop finish.
I am hoping that this stout will age well.

Very nice Imperial from New Hampshire. Complex, rich, with lacing that sticks to the tulip glass forever. Coffee and chocolate flavors that linger on the pallette like a fine Burgundy wine from France. Overall, very impressed, well done.

Appearance - dark brown, almost black body with tan head
Smell - molasses, black licorice, coffee, dark chocolate
Taste - roasted malts, black licorice, dark chocolate, molasses
Mouthfeel - medium bodied, medium plus carbonation, molasses upfront, a bit of bitterness / roast on the back end
Overall - decent version of an RIS here. Leans more molasses forward, but good beer
Price point - $3.50/16 oz can

Tall can...12/07/16 stamped on the bottom.
The pour here is very dark and stout like, dark mocha cap, resolves to a thicker film. extensive sheeting and strands of thicker lacing.
Black coffee and dark chocolate on the nose.
Super smooth and dangerously easy drinking.
Big, bold, complex, tasty and highly worthy brew....more big and meaty notes of dark coffee and dark chocolate....delicious and well worth seeking out...go get some..very hi quality Impy stout in a can...

L: Pours a pitch black, with a cinnamon brown head.
S: Dark malts galore. Dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, piney hops.
T: Tons of bittersweet chocolate, coffee, caramel, and a slightly bitter pine finish.
F: Slightly viscous, fairly chewy.
O: This is a really well done RIS. Glad to be seeing some of these guys' stuff in cans around here.
