Bright Ideas Brewing

This brewery is part of the same old factory complex as MASS MoCA, which is a fantastic contemporary arts museum; in fact it might be my favorite. Bright Ideas is an awesome addition, with great beer being served just a 2 minute walk from the entrance to the museum. I had a 12 ounce pour of the 3XIPA to get started, which was outstanding. Tasted the Wheat beer my wife ordered, which was good but a tad sweet for my tastes. Then ordered a flight of four to go along with the late lunch we ordered. The menu has some good options, from salads to burgers. My flight had a Red Ale, Mosiac IPA, B6 APA/IPA Hybrid, and the simply named IPA, an english style IPA. We eat outside, as it was a beautiful day The people watching aspect was very entertaining. I will be going to this brewery on every visit to MASS MoCa or North Adams!

I loved the design of this place, and it's situation inside the MoCA campus. Great use of an old industrial facility. Great service and beer too. Definitely worth a stop.

 

I love everything about Bright Ideas Brewing, from the location at the the world class, one-of-a kind Museum of Contemporary Art, to the cool branding, and the really nice collection of beers. I had a flight that included the Glass of Heart Blonde, Rothko Red Ale, Afterbrite IPA, and Double Chocolate Dairy Bar Porter, and followed that with a glass of the sump Thing Mosaic. All were great, with Afterbrite and Sump Thing the highlights. Rothko Red is exceedingly drinkable, and the porter was so lovely. North Adams is a wonderful art and beer and beautiful Berkshires destination!
