Take a trip to the lost island of Porter Rico, where the cacao and coconut live in harmony and frolic the sandy shores. Our island getaway takes the form of a dark, chocolatey beer, with a balancing sweetness, medium body, and lingering mouthfeel. Intense toasted coconut rides the trade winds for a truly exotic, yet comfortingly familiar pint.

I bought this beer a few years ago. Look and smell were fine enough, but the taste was vile and not at all coconutty or chocolatey. I remember an overwhelming artificial, almost chemical taste to it, to the point that I couldnt even focus on the mouthfeel. To this day the worst craft beer I've ever consumed in my life.

Presentation: 12 oz. brown bottle with no dates. Served in a Willi Becher glass.

Appearance: The dense, three finger head stays around for a very long time and leaves behind a layer of foam. The lacing is thick, patchy and covers the entire glass. It's a pure black color.

Scent: It's a sweet scent with notes of toasted coconut, vanilla, brown sugar and milk chocolate.

Taste: It's sweet in a slightly medicinal way but not overwhelmingly so. The milk chocolate, coconut and vanilla are balanced by some bitter dark chocolate and slight coffee notes as well as some roasted malt.

Mouthfeel: It's medium to light bodied and slightly creamy with medium-high carbonation.

Overall: It's lighter than expected but the aroma and taste are actually really good. The lighter body keeps the sweetness from getting cloying so overall, it's a very enjoyable beer.

I received this beer from a BIF. The beer is 55 degrees and served in a pint glass. A semi-hard pour produced a one finger medium tan head with good retention. The color of the beer is SRM 35 dark brown nearly black. The beer has dark red ruby hues. The beer has little carbonation bubbles on the sides of the glass.

Dark roasted malts, coconut, dark chocolate, molasses, toasted biscuit, dark char note, and earthy.

The beer has this acidic undertone in the beer that detracts from the porter notes. The flavor in the beer is toasted coconut, dark chocolate, molasses, toasted biscuit, char, dark roasted malts, and earthy.

The mouthfeel of the is dry.

The body of the beer is medium, medium-high carbonation, and a medium finish.

The beer has this acidic undertone that makes this porter unappetizing. A pleasant toasted coconut flavor in the beer. The beer is just okay, with odd flavors for me.

Look: milk chocolate dark brown, off white head, nice lacing, not a ton of carbonation
Smell: coconut
Taste: dark malts, sweetness with coconut in the middle to later stages of the taste.
Feel: medium body
Overall: I enjoyed this dark beer overall. The coconut flavor stands out and is natural tasting. It almost seems like a brown ale if it were a little lighter in color, but it has more flavor than most brown ales. Then again, it is colored brown and most porters are colored black with a red tint to them. I don't think that I would want to drink several of them, but it was a good beer that stands out.

Appearance - The beer was brownish black with little visible carbonation.

Smell - The nose reminded me of a coconut scented candle. At least there was coconut here.

Taste - At the front were dry, dirty malts with the oiliness of coconut. The coconut profile reminded me of a mouthful of coconut hand lotion, oily but not sweet. The dry bitter malts dominate the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Not sure what to call it, but there was a greasy/oily quality to the feel. Did they use coconut oil?

Overall - This is one of my least favorite coconut beers.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a cola color with a 1 inch head. Smell is strong of coconut, little else. Taste is coconut, roasted malts, some light chocolate. Feels mediu bodied in the mouth and overall is an easy drinking and enjoyable beer.

This will go down as the worst beer I pave ever had. I can finish a Corona, but I couldn’t finish this. And I always finish my beer. Not too much positive coming out of Arcadia
