Style: American Double / Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 9.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
This Imperial IPA has an assertive aroma of sticky, resinous Summit hops. A complex flavor profile includes notes of grapefruit, lemon peel, and spruce. Though the flavor focus is on hops, a trio of malts provides a balance to the beer, creating a delicious level of palatability. Hints of caramel, toffee and freshly-baked biscuits are also apparent in the flavor profile.

On tap at the brew pub. A decent beer. Came off a little hot/boozy for the ABV though with an astringent taste. The paint thinner like smell/taste kind of ruined most of it for me. Looked and felt very nice otherwise though with some decent pineapple and mango with a bit of stickiness.

The smell and taste are both a bit sweeter than I was expecting from an imperial IPA, but still a very nice, enjoyable beer. It pours a beautiful hazy gold with a moderate white head, dissipating quickly. The taste is of tropical fruit with very little bitterness.

Aroma is pine, hops and a hint of nail polish. The flavor is citrus, grapefruit, complex fruit, malts, tropical fruit and a mix of tart and bitter in the finish.

Trying to be fairly critical and not overly bashing here. I did not like this one. The hops were not very pronounced and the malt base was not bad. I also detected a sourness flavor at the end. May have been a hopstrain on my palate though. Something seemed off. Surprised there are not other reviews from this year.

A-a clear light yellow orange color with two fingers worth of white head

S-lots of sweet tropical fruits, some citrus, and pale malt

T-alcohol is a bit too present in the taste, followed by tropical fruit sweetness, citrus, pale malt, and a light bitter finish

M-medium body, moderate carbonation

Overall pretty drinkable, alcohol mellows as the beer warms

A: The beer is hazy pale yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a patch of bubbles in the center, a collar of large bubbles around the edge of the glass, and delicate lacing in between on the surface.
S: Light aromas of pineapples are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste starts out with flavors of pineapples and other tropical fruits (such as mangos) but then some alcohol begins to creep in. Not that much bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied, crisp and a little sticky on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has some interesting and unique aromas and flavors of pineapples, but the alcohol is a little too apparent in the taste.
