This looks good initially, with a cloudy golden body but the head caps rather fast. Nose is spice and dark fruit and booze.

This has a very thick texture, like a much bigger beer. Definite earthy hops, spicy rye, and biscuit malt but the result is a little underwhelming. A little sweeter in the aftertaste than I would prefer.

Arcadia's Sky High Rye Plae Ale pours a hazy yellow-orange color. The head is minimal, and recedes into nothingness. The aroma mild and bland with not much going on...maybe some malt, but it is really faint. The taste is a bit fuller than the aroma, but is still really mild. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with high carbonation for a pale ale. Overall, this is a forgetable beer.

Poured from a bottle into a nonic pint glass. Color is a nice golden straw color with a slight hint of copper. Amazed at how long the head has lasted. The smell is amazing and a sweet mix of rye and hoppy goodness. Taste is just as good. Creamy mouth feel and nice notes of spice and rye at the finish. Great job Arcadia!

Can into a snifter. Hazy, vibrant gold in appearance topped with about 1.5 fingers of white, sticky foam. Slightly cloudy, but there is still pretty good clarity. Rye spice, earthy grass, citrus, and bready malt on the nose. Big notes of sweet citrus and grapefruit on the taste, accompanied by rye spice and heavy malt on the back end. Very well balanced, and fruitier than I would've guessed. Carbonated, creamy mouthfeel. The aftertaste is dry spice and bready malt.

Overall, this one pleasantly suprised me. I'm not the biggest fan of rye-based ales, but the balance between the spice and fruit made this one of the better ones I've had.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a murky orange-light brown color with a small white head. The aroma is full of hops and citrus. The taste is full on citrus, hops and rye. An excellent rye beer.
