Traded for this a while ago, as the date on the bottom of the can read 7/12/18 with "X-RAY" written above it. This was the first brew from Foam that I ever reviewed on here and it was one of the better examples of a New England IPA that I've had in quite some time. Sure, the label was trippy, but the liquid on the inside was quite enjoyable as it was easily accessible from the first sip!

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was was golden, hazy, and clear of any large sediment. Enough head topped it off but there wasn't much of any lacing left behind once the suds settled down. Lots of tropical fruit, dry white cheese, subtle dankness, and subtle, skunky weed weed all the nose as the latter two really came out in the taste once this fully warmed up. Passion fruit and overripe fruit took hold near the back end of this as this had a juiciness to it that wasn't typical and a good body to it. Just enough carbonation kept this from feeling too heavy, even though the hops weren't initially strong on the palate.

A good amount of booze was in this although I could only feel a slight warming effect take hold of me well before I finished this off. Not overly hazy or juicy like something from Tree House, Trillium, or Magnify, this was a good example of the style that felt a bit more rough and unpolished. It held up well over time and had me wanting more from Foam, just to see if their other offerings were like this. I really enjoyed this one!

Pours a very cloudy orange-gold color with a two finger off-white head.

Aroma is rich semi-sweet citrus and a touch of pineapple.

Taste is similar with dense orange and orange pith dominating. There is a medium sweetness that evokes something sweeter like pineapple but I don't think I can pull that out reliably. This is a superior flavor though - fresh and bright and full of taste. Pale malt is way in the back to this hop profile.

Feel is very soft with plenty of seltzer to it. Bitterness is absent. This feels (and tastes) like a half-flat Orangina.

What a winner! This is a classic example of a juice bomb with the flavor, though the effervescence is a bit out of range while adding to the experience.

Unimpressed. More boring than most in a world of copy cat/can’t fail NE IPAs. 3.25

Canned on 3/31/21 8:59 “Hibernation.” Poured into a shaker pint.

A - Typical New England IPA. Pours a brownish dull cloudy yellow. 3.75

S - Muted aroma. Not bright. Some spiciness. Low to no fruitiness. 3.5

T - Low bitterness, some citrus, more malty almost chalky. 3.0

MF - Medium bodied, dry finish, smooth almost coating. 3.75

Tall can direct from the source...6-13-19 canning date

Lovely and pretty darn typical Foam kinda neipa pour...hazed/clouded, minor fine cap, and leaves fine ringed sheeting behind.

Delicate tropical fruit sniff

Ripe pineapple, lime, mango and kiwi goodness all over this one....more of the same....mighty fine stuff .... go get some

Canned yesterday

S: vague citrus fruit in spades (I have a bit of a stuffy nose, so I can't determine fine details)

T: Orange, tangerine, and pineapple flesh; citrus rind; herbal tea undertones; hop bite on the finish gives the sensation of spruce tips

F: light body for an neipa. Prickly carbonation paired with some hop bite gives a seltzer-like impression

Overall, this drinks like a seltzer or a champagne cocktail. It's incredibly light and nimble without sacrificing any hop flavor. Hop character and yeast remind me of fresh fruit instead of the compost melange from similarly situated breweries. Awesome

ONE PINT can
Served in a stemless wine glass

This beer pours a dull yellow and is topped with a couple inches of eggshell head that leaves spotty lacing.

Not a whole lot of aroma. i get some tropical fruit. I get an almost tart smell.

Light flavor for a DIPA. I get some citrus and tropical fruit. Hints of melon. Mild bitterness in the finish.

Medium bodied with a slightly chalky mouthfeel

Another hazy that gets lost in a crowded style. I like the style. It just seems like a lot of them taste the same. This one has no attributes to elevate it above the masses.
