From a 750ml growler, filled at the brewery 04/25/19. Served in a Foam-branded cervoise... because totally proper glassware.
Pours a thin-appearing, hazy-milky, pale lemon-yellow with about a finger of frothy head. Retention is meh but leaves a fat and foamy collar and a solid curtain of gobby lacing. A very pretty, cheerful-looking beer.
Aroma is sharp and tart, lemony and yeasty. Underripe fruit with a hint of fresh laundry hung out on the line to dry.
Taste is likewise sharp and tart, reminiscent of a saison only without the funk. Light and bright, with lemon and unripened mango and peach. Late in the sip there’s some soft melon - the brewer’s description says ‘cream’ and, I guess I get what they mean, but that’s not what I’m tasting; I’m getting melon. A fast clean finish with zero booziness.
Feel is crisp and clean, easy drinking, medium-light bodied and brightly carbonated.
Sweet merciful fuck, this drinks like a beer one-sixth it’s abv. The growler was gone before I hardly knew it, and I still have chores to do.
