Came in a standard U.S. pint glass. Black color, thin head.

Great smell, coffee, roasted malt. Rich flavor.

Tastes just like it smells, roasted malt, bitter in the middle with a hint of coffee to round it out.

Smooth body, low carbonation and medium bodied. Brings it all together well.

Really solid stout. Easy drinking and good.

Had this one at dinner on the last night in Destin, FL for aasher’s wedding! Served from tap into a sampler shooter. Poured pitch black with a half finger light tan head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, cream, roasted malt, and subtle chocolate. The flavor was comprised of sweet malt, dark chocolate, roasted malt, subtle cream, and wood. It had a medium feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. If I am honest, this was probably the highlight of all the brews I had while at this location that night. While this one wasn’t that bad, it left me craving more from it. I know this style isn’t known for its robustness, but I would love for one to come out of the blue and backhand me as a wakeup call. Good for the style, but definitely not a standout.

The menu might scare some casual drinkers off, as it describes the beer as being "not for everyone." Actually, this beer was quite mild, but well done. Smokeyness that oen expects in the style was present, perhaps a bit more reserved than I would like, but a nice note in the flavor. Not too thin, nor acidic - the mouthfeel was on the mark. I suppose that, for a brewery in an Irish pub, hitting this beer is the gold standard, and they authenticate themselves quite well with this.

This brew has a near jet black body with slight reddish hues. It has a slight coffee aroma. When served to me, it had no head but a small ring, which in seconds was totally gone. The taste was not complex at all, and pretty much the burnt malt was all I could notice. It felt and tasted very wet, not like most other dry stouts. It's been a while since I've had this brew, so I'll have to try it again. I don't remember this beer being so weak before.

Pours a dark black color. 1/6 inch head of an off-white color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of roasted malt, sweet malt, and slight hops. Fits the style of an Irish Dry Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and thick with an average carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt and sweet malt. Overall, a simple and straight-forward brew that is pretty decent.

Poured jet black with some coffee aromas on the nose. A small tan head accompanied it and put some suds on the glass. Went down very smooth, satisfying all the way. The aftertaste was something else, it stuck around putting the stout in stout in other ways. Overall a good stout, better than you would expect.
