A thick, dark, black beer with rich maltiness, roasted and chocolated malt flavors and high hop bitterness. The strongest of stouth, this robust beer will age with grace, transforming through complex flavor variations. Unfiltered.

This is my favorite of the Trinity offerings (though I haven't tried them all as of yet). It is strange for an Imperial Stout in that it really can be a session beer. It's typically full in flavor, yet light in mouthfeel. Unfortunately, I cannot walk to Trinity or I would put more than a few of these away in a sitting, but it keeps me coming back, though I hate the parking situation . . .

First beer of the night yesterday evening at Trinity. Served on tap in a normal pint glass. Dark black in color. Very little head. Smell was like smoke and fresh coffee grinds. Taste was enjoyable. Lots of flavors of bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, and black licorice. The one bad note with this beer was the mouthfeel. I did not enjoy the burnt coffee flavor and aftertaste it left on my palate. To me, it was too roasted. If this beer finished a bit smoother, I would have really enjoyed it. Not a bad RIS, but only really worth having one pint.

This beer pours a pitch black body with a small off-white head.
Nose is in your face with a strong black malt sort of smell. A little bit of brick but ver fresh dark grain. Breathtiaking smell.
Taste is medium to full bodied with a very immediate big roasted and even smokey dark malt. Very milky and rich, but with some pear type fruit flavors. Bitterness has an almost licorice flavor and is very evenly matcjed against the big malt base. At 8% abv this beer is a rare RIS that really let's the malt shine without being over the top and boozy. Almost a session RIS.
This beer rules. Considering it's one their normal, almost flagship beers, you gotta give them credit. Another killer beer by Trinity.

I had had this beer in the past, but last night was my first time having it in awhile. I had this beer on tap at the Trinity Brewhouse.
It was poured into a pint glass and poured very dark almost black in color with a tan head (about a half-inch). The aroma was very strong of chocolate. This beer was rich with maltiness and was very thick.
I drank two of them, but would have found it difficult to drink and more in the same sitting.
I really liked this beer overall.
