Opaque dark yellow brew, very attractive for the style. Very modest head production and poor retention, but the lacing it leaves behind is nice.
Sharply herbal nose: oregano, basil, mint, and pepper. Lurking behind is a melange of tropical and fruit juices: orange, grapefruit, lemon, mango, melon, papaya, and pineapple. Mild honey and cracker. Mild-to-moderate bitterness.
Similar on the palate, with melon, mango, and papaya up front, with grapefruit, orange, lemon, and bright herbs on the edges. A bit of grass and earthy dank notes add depth to the profile. Dankness grows as the brew slightly warms, especially mid-sip.
Surprisingly lively, especially up front, with plenty of carbonation bite. A touch watery for the style and ABV. Fairly smooth and creamy, but I would say this doesn't quite hit the mark for mouthfeel on the style - not that I can guarantee they were really trying to replicate the NE style feel.
