Good old Steeler, one of my good friends father's staple beer. This is a straight macro beer with a macro taste and a cheaper than macro price. Taste is dull, very little flavour, not bad head though.

You get what you pay for...$8.50 for a 6 pack puts it higher than lakeport's honey and pilsner which in reality is not even close to any of these in taste. If your feeling cheap you may want to consider this beer, but with better offerings from lakeport like honey or its pilsner...its hard to choose this one.

The can on the other hand rules~~ classic steeler...wouldn't turn one down...wouldn't buy another one either.

I don't even know if i can round up 250 words for this review. I had Steeler last night at a family BBQ. How can i say's mass produced, poor quality, generic beer that i would never buy.

Another Coors Light style beer. Pale and boring. Dull and grainy. Lack of body and character. Virtually no notables flavours or smells.

This is a bad choice no matter how you look at it.

Tried a can of Steeler Lager and the beer poured a Golden Clear with thin white head. The smell had an initial skunky waife then settled into a grain powered scent. The taste was grain/malt with slight hop balance. The mouthfeel was light in body with good carbonation. Overall it is beer....and it is drinkable.

Picked up a 6 of this in cans, new to Alberta, but I'm sure you Ontarians know what a treat this is. Actually this stuff is pretty awful, let us count the ways, shall we?

To start on a good foot though, this is a nice looking adjunct lager, clear and golden, decent white spongy foam head that lasts a brief while. But then it goes straight to hell. The aroma is that of cooked and rotting vegetables, you know, the ones you always fail to eat. With warning signs like that it is questionable why a person would ever bring this stuff to their lips to consume. The flavour is consistent with the smell, over-cooked veggies, along with some sour grains. It is only through Zen-like focus that I can discern that the mouthfeel is average for this style, but a little caustic on the finish. That means nothing though because this stuff is completely and utterly undrinkable, seriously, hand me a Bud over this one, as much as it shames me to utter such a thing.

This brew just does not work for me.....the appearance directly after being poured is very nice. Light honey golden hue with a medium head and good carbonation....The taste is disappointing as it leaves a void disappears all to quickly, what I can only describe as hollow. It leaves you wanting..

Steeler...a staple to many...a one time deal for me. Sample from a large can bought at the LCBO as a single. Pours a golden coloured body with large white head that is gone in seconds. Aromas are faint hope, mild chemicals, some stale malt. Taste is adjuncts, corn, some hops, but I imagine there was one hop pellet in this entire batch. Not good, but not suprising, coming from Lakeport.

Obnoxiously oversized 950 mL can from TBS; #4 in my series of reviews concerning cheap beers that you should probably avoid. I think this qualifies as the largest single-portion offering of beer I've ever reviewed, although I'm a little curious as to why they didn't just go all-out and make it a full litre. I've kind of wanted to try this for a while, just because the ridiculous size of the can makes me smirk - but it's always sitting next to that oilcan of Foster's, which is what I usually go with when I want an absurdly large serving of beer. I mean, I already know Fozzie's is a (relatively-speaking) safe option, so why risk it?

Pours a clear golden-yellow colour, reminiscent of apple juice, topped with slightly more than one finger of soapy white head that vanishes over the next few minutes, leaving behind a thin film on the surface and a modest collar around the edges. Weak aroma without many features to elaborate upon - musty corn husk, pale malts, and wet cardboard. Tolerable for the style, I suppose.

The flavour is pretty weak, even by Lakeport standards. It's quite sweet, although it doesn't quite reach into 'cloying' territory, and it's definitely corny, though without being syrupy or extremely vegetal. Beyond this, there is really nothing to describe - it's just sweet, corny, vaguely grainy stuff, though it at least lacks the solvent/cardboard notes I sometimes find in these barrel bottom-scraping lagers. Very fizzy, which (given the large sample size) makes bloat a serious consideration here. Light-bodied and watery, and the flavour is tolerable enough to prevent this from being a straight-up drainpour.

Final Grade: 2.35, a regrettable D+. Lakeport's Steeler is a thoroughly unimpressive offering that, while not completely offensive, is still a chore to get through. It is definitely inferior to their pilsner and honey lager in every aspect - so anyone who already knows that they dislike those two is better off doing their liver a favour and skipping this stuff entirely. If you're brave enough to take the plunge though, remember to drink it ice cold - a bit of a challenge with a serving this large, but doable if you leave the open can refrigerated between pours. This is definitely not something I'd purchase again, but I do appreciate how they kept the new label's colour scheme consistent with that of the football franchise.

Appearance is golden yellow with a medium head. Smell wise, a bit sweet but not to interesting.

Has a sweet and grainy taste. Good carbonation, however a bit watery and boring. Aftertaste is dry and almost spicy.

Very cheap beer and not horrible, good for swilling down. Would recommend this if you want something simple and low on cash. A bit to simple when it comes to savoring.

Pours a clean pale yellow with a white head. In the aroma, sweet lager like notes, and somewhat skunky. In the taste, sweet malt, quite thin and watery, and really not much going on. A smooth and thin and light mouthfeel, with basically not aftertaste whatsoever. Well, it's a standard Canadian crappy lager, but I love the packaging. Big can, black and yellow, and it is called Steeler... GO STEELERS!

Beer had a very light transparent colour. Smelled pretty typical of a beer of it's type. The flavor was somewhat metallic yet not nearly as abrasive as some other domestic macro lagers. Important point to make is that this beer should be drank ice cold, as it warms it gets to be rather painful to drink. Overall it's not a really bad beer as it is fairly drinkable. And of course it is a hometown favorite.

From the 950mL can. Pours out to a rich golden color with a large head of white foam that calmed to about 1/8th of an inch. A few rings of lace, medium level of carbonation. Aromas of malt and corn. Taste was of the typical macro styling- malt, corn, grain, little hops, water, a touch of alcohol. Mouthfeel was unremarkable. Drinkability is north of average, but nothing special. Worth a try, then move on.

THE BLOODHOUND FACTOR: What got spilled from the can was quickly and eagerly licked up by Peaches, before Benjie even got a chance to sample it. She liked it. As for Benjie, we'll never know.

Wow, this can is huge. I chose it for my team from Pittsburgh. Just poured 950 mls into my biggest Amburger&Wootbeer mug. Found it very difficult to do without spilling. It had a 4 finger head (from a Kareem Abdul Jabbar hand) with a beautiful meringuegous cap which was very bitter...couldn't resist sampling it. I'm left with a 1/4 inch around the edge, a thin film over top & a bit of sporadic lace. Nice bubbles from the bottom. If i could be Timothy Q. Mouse right now, i would accidently on purpose fall into this golden amber pool & swill to my heart's content. Then i would be able to forget about the fact that my $920 mountain bike was stolen the other night. "Stealer" is this brew's new handle!

The nose is pleasant & the taste is creamy tomato soup (complete with crushed saltines). Comfort food in a can, i'd say. Its up there with Moosehead when it comes down to it.. & i will be glad to support this union made, ticat fan drink. My mouthfeels happy. Need it say more?

I got this can of "beer" purely based on the fact that it was so uniquely large - at 950 ml.

Appearance - this stuff had a really pale golden/straw colour, with a head that dissipates quickly.

Smell - smelt of grains, a kind of cheap smell I suppose, like you could smell how little it costed.

Taste - it had very little flavour, just this horrible taste that I can only describe as bug-repellant. terrible.

Mouthfeel - feels exactly like cracked canoe, watery, carbonated, a lot like perrier or any other carbonated water/club soda.

Drinkability - Not much in terms of drinkability, I actually had to make a conscious effort to finish this thing. I don't want to sensationalize, and discourage one from trying this beer, but the only way I personally could drink this stuff is if I were already drunk.

BIg ol' 950mL can from Canada. Poured into pint glass. Ice cold.

Pours a nice one finger head that slowly dissipated. Small amount of carbonation bubbles. Very little color... a light yellow, nearly clear. Lacing on glass.

Smell is not too complex. Sweet, corn.

Taste is not too bad. Sweet, yet crisp, with mainly notes of corn, followed by barley and malt. Needs something to give it a distinct flavorful finish, but overall not too bad.

Feel is crisp, lots of carbonation.

I'd drink again. Basic, but tasty.
