This represents the best part of The CANQuest (TM) - CANadian beer in a CAN sent to me by a CANuck! BigBry and I have been trading for a while and I am always glad to receive and open one of his packages.

Unlike the picture, mine depicted a lighthouse in black & white. Ha!

The Crack & Glug came off without a hitch and the massive two-plus fingers of dense bone-white head with great retention was marvelous. Color was a pale lemon-yellow with NE-quality clarity. Nose was rubbish! Oh, it was SO full of adjuncts that it probably resembled the Frankenstein monster in its creation. It smelled like metal, corn, skunk, everything that could possibly be wrong in a beer with the exception of green apples and cardboard. Pheh! Mouthfeel was light and airy and it was not as unpleasant on the tongue as the nose led me to expect. Still, it was not terribly good with plenty of adjuncts rolling around in my mouth. Finish was slightly bland and generally boring. I CAN think of MUCH better beers to subject yourself to ...

A - pale yellow with little head - not much to report

S - faint malt, booze, stale

T - malt, alcohol, corn, biscuit

M - light, loads of carbonation, dry with little bitterness

O - buck a beer - had worse but certainly better cheap crap - nevertheless drinkable and perfect for loading in a backpack and drinking behind the school with your teenage friends

Bottle- It's a buck a beer, and I can see why! Lots of cereal grain and corn adjunct in the nose, with a booze aroma as well. Flavours are harsh booze with corn and sweet muted grain in the mix. Strong for a 4% beer. Rough!!! WOrse than the regular strength.

Picked up 6 of these the other day, This pours a medium lager yellow, with a slight foamy head. Smell is weak, a vague malt aroma, with a touch of corn. Taste is much the same, mineral water with a hint of corn and malt. Carbonation is a bit much in this, affecting the mouthfeel considerably, however with that being said it goes down very easily, think soda water with some alcohol.

This beer is not terrible, keeping the style in mind, there are no off flavors. It is on-par with other much more expensive "light beers" on the market and thus makes for a reasonable drink to keep on hand for the uninitiated.
