Fall and German beer go together like Texas and tacos. So we brewed Oktoberfest, our first lager, using traditional Bavarian brewing methods and the highest quality German malt, hops, and yeast. Munich and Vienna malts are the real heroes of this brew, resulting in a smooth, copper-colored, medium-bodied beer that’s perfect for Fall. This year, celebrate Oktoberfest with Real Ale and fill a stein with this traditional Bavarian lager. We won’t even make you wear lederhosen.

12 oz. Bottle poured into Imperial pint glass
Look: Light copper, 1 1/2 finger head, heavy on carbonation, no lacing
Smell: Bready, hints of lemon and floral in background
Taste: Medium bitterness, taste follows smell, some alcohol in the finish
Feel: Excellent mouthfeel, flavor lingers
Overall: Good representation of style. Not outstanding.
Pair with sausage, sourkraut, pretzels and mustard or just sip it.

This beer pours a more yellow color, unlike the amber of most Marzen-style beers; one finger tan head that leaves the glass quickly. Smells fairly rich of malts, some straw aromas in there to. Has a bready taste up front, some decent malt flavor, finishes with a slight hop bite. Medium-High in carbonation, goes down pretty smooth. This beer lacks in flavor in my opinion, the best thing about it is the 6% ABV.

Poured into a pint glass from a chilled bottle. Somewhat copper color leaning towards more golden with a very small white head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing. The carbonation on this beer was overbearingly high. Mildly sweet malt with hints of caramel and the associated breadiness that matches the style. That said, the flavors are not enough to overcome what seems like too much hops and a heavier feel in the mouth that makes the high carbonation a bigger issue. All in all, not one of my favorites for the style and one I'd pass on going forward.

not bad if you can't reach the real deal or a shiner or sam adams.
sounds rude but just being honest.
great notch on the bedpost though for sure.
just don't put it on a pedestal or you'll embarrass yourself *and* the beer

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear deep amber color with a tiny head of fizzy white foam. The head fades almost instantly, leaving no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a grainy and malty smell mixed with some sweetness of caramel. Along with these smells comes a touch of grass and hay.
Taste – The taste begins with a very heavy bready and malty taste that has just a touch of roast and a rather decent showing of corn and caramel sweetness. These tastes create a base flavor for the brew and last throughout. Toward the end the caramel increases a little bit and is joined by some light harvest fruit flavors of pear and apple. With the grainy transitioning to a doughy taste, one is left with a thick malty and sweet taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thicker for a brew of its abv with a carbonation level that is higher. The thick body and low carbonation may have too heavily accentuated the very malty and sweeter nature of the brew too much, leaving it a bit heavy on the palate.
Overall – Not really a fan of this Oktoberfest. Its just too heavy in malt and sweet and lacks a real balance in taste profile.

Looks weak, very light amber, white head with almost no retention. I really didn’t detect any smell. The taste is what counts and that’s what really shines with this beer. You get a pronounced Munich malt up front, toasted bread, a little molasses, a touch of sweetness and a dry finish. Very enjoyable.

Pours with a nice head and malty aroma. Medium carbination which is good for the style. The flavor is very malty with a toasted character and floral hop balance. The hop character is a touch heavy, but not overdone. Hints of alcohol and cooked grain leave a slightly odd linger on the tongue.
