Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.60%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Originally brewed to celebrate the brewery’s 16th anniversary, and wildly popular as a seasonal release, Four Squared lives on in our year round lineup to quench the thirst of both the hop beginners and the most ardent hop heads. Lighter bodied and not too bitter, the balance of Four Squared leans heavily towards its dry hop component, a combination of Crystal, Amarillo and Mosaic hops that brings a brightness to the hop flavor and won't weigh you down. Save the resin and dank for your IPA, this beer is all about the tropical, juicy citrus that grabs you from the first sip. Dry and refreshing, bright and fruity, Four Squared keeps you coming back for more.

Very refreshing beer. Sweet grapefruit rind on the nose, crisp/dry, great flavor, fruity,...goes down smooth and easy to drink. Its light for a pale ale. Good stuff...worth trying one if you haven't.

I poured this out of a bottle into a pint glass, not a really hard pour, but got a decent head of white with noticeable lacing. Good amount of bubbles in a cloudy pale gold beer. Mild aroma, with subtle citrus tones. Full bodied, sharp taste with a good amount of bite, noticeable bitterness in the delayed aftertaste. This is a good beer, all in all.

Poured from a can into a snifter. Very tasty! Cloudy yellow, nice head and lacing. Fragrant clean hop smell, a bit peppery. Taste is hoppy but clean and pleasant. Very nice pale ale.

Great IPA-style beer. This was a bit dry, but not overly bitter. It's fairly light in color and has good carbonation. A little cloudy in a glass. The flavor is hoppy yet smooth. I would get this one again.

Appearance: Bright yellow glass holds a rocky white head that lasts long and laces heavily. Some mild haziness.

Aroma: White bread yeast, perfumed citric lemon and grapefruit hops, malty base.

Taste: Fairly well balanced, some sweetness comes through while there are plenty of hop flavors that are juicy and fruity without ever really going bitter. Grapefruit but so much more going on as well, nice complex but integrated flavor.

Mouthfeel: Medium body seems a touch light for all the flavor, medium low carbonation gives almost a cask character. Finish is pretty clean with a little acidic pucker.

Overall: Fireman 4 never really wowed me, but this, I'm getting more of this soon.

Appearance: Slightly hazy, but very light golden body topped off with a nice thick and bubby head. A mild lacing mark every sip you take.
Smell: Mild pine and hops, fruity aromas and green apples.
Taste: The malts and hops are well balanced, just a bit on the hoppy side; it’s spicy and you can taste the cloves and citrus zest in its aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: light bodied, sharp and crisp on the tongue, smooth with a slightly dry finish.
Overall: This is a great tasting ale, slightly hoppy but well rounded, the flavors start to come out more as it hits room temperature, more fruits, mangos and oranges start to come through.
