Four square shares many of its Four Square sibling's characteristics, dark straw color, decent lacing, medium body and carbonation. The main difference leave you wondering if they're from the same family. While there's a malt presence in both aroma and flavor, the spicy, and at times, catty hops in the middle and finish might remind you more of an IPA. In addition, the alcohol also peers out, unlike its brethren.

Cask poured at The Bottle Shop on Greenville. According to the website, the cask version is dry-hopped with Zythos hops.

The beer pours a golden color with a white head. The aroma has a ton of big orange citrus notes, as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is very similar. I get quite a bit of sweetness from the biscuit malt, with some toffee also thrown in. However, the hops also really come through. I get some juicy orange notes as well as some grass and resin. The bitterness is low to medium and goes with the flavors very well. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation. This is completely different than the regular Fireman's 4 and is a definite improvement in my opinion.

Nice extra from bigbear968, lookalike I snooze don't his one as best by is 9/5 on the bottom of the can, so keep that in mind. Enjoyed from a snifter.

a - brew pours a murky straight up orange with a frothy finger of head with lace that extended a finger north of the head. Attractive.

s - nose is soft tangerine.

t/m/o - taste is soft tangerine as well. Lemon. Very much like a blonde ale. Soft and easy drinking. Very nice beer, too bad a bit old, but even beyond the date drinks great would love to try fresh since I don't really get much on the way of fresh dry hopping.
