Reddish brown in the Duvel tulip with a nice foam rising and lots of lacing in the glass. Adequate carbonation with a lighter body, though some oily sensation. Rather sharp and winey with dark roasted malt as the main feature. Rather sweet with some mango and pineapple, for some reason.
This is certainly not very hoppy, so I'm not sure why they're bragging about the dry hopping. There is just a little bitterness to finish out each sip, but it's more malty and fruity with some molasses. There is a peculiar sweet and sour taste that cloys before long. This is an odd one and I'm glad to pour the last couple fingers out. From the 12 oz bottle bought at Texas Wine Cellars in Fredericksburg.

Initially some smoke and hop aroma. Citrus taste, the hops came through. A nice tasty hopped porter, well integrated with a hoppy finish. A few weeks after best date but it was just fine. A very nice porter, thanks Steve S. Middling mouthfeel. Nicely drinkable.
