Appearance: The body is a deep mahogany brown, crowned with a massive, dense , coarse tan head, whic retains superbly. The lacing is of the Belgian style. There are numerous columns of fast-rising bubbles, which serve to buttress the head.

Aroma: Abundant leafy and grassy herbal hops dominate the aroma. There are also notes of coffee, earth, and particularly roasted malt.

Taste: Opens with solid, balanced herbal hops and classic roasted malt. The hops dominate the taste, although not to the extent of diminishing the malt. As the taste progresses, the hops ascend a bit, but the roasted malt remains. Finishes with a mild, lingering herbal hop bitterness.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, pleasant, with a hint of carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: Rather hoppy for my taste, but well made, and easy to appreciate.

Presentation: Packaged in a twelve-ounce brown glass long-neck bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a Samuel Adams Boston Lager glass.

Sourcing: Purchased at HEB in Texas in April, 2013, for $8.99/six-pack.

The beer pours a solid dark brown color with a filmy off white head that left plenty of lacing on the way down. It's smell is mostly coffee and molasses with a bit of piney hop aroma. Tastes pretty sweet with caramel and mocha with a slight fruity hop bite and more malty sweetness. It has a medium body and is silky smooth, with low carbonatiion and a tasty lingering finish and feel. Real Ale just keeps on coming out with amazing products and I will continue to seek out every beer they come out with.

Dark brown with reddish notes and clear, head and lace were pretty good.

Aroma is a little odd, quite hoppy yet still with roasty and toasty notes.

The flavor follows the nose and isn't too far off from a typical porter, but with more hops character. Bitterness is about spot on tho, it's not a porter-IPA mix or anything.

Body is medium with medium carbonation and a roasty finish.

It's pretty enjoyable. Maybe not my favorite porter, but certainly someone put some effort into this beer.
