Very Good
ViennaVienna
Notes: Copper in color, with a warm, malty character, it's made with 100% Vienna malt and Styrian Golding hops. Rich, caramel-toned, inviting.

16oz can. Unreadable canned date, but procured in July 2021. Thanks to @FBarber for the beer!

Poured into a 21.5oz Lager Fest Willi Becher. Rich, bright copper colored beer with a slightly off-white creamy foam lace that fades to a ring and eventually altogether. Some unfiltered dregs drop in hazes things up a bit. Nose is malty AF with wonderful toasty and caramel notes. Firm, light-ish body, with some crisp carbonation, but overall soft on the palate. First sip is packed with more malty goodness that's toasty, grainy, and bready (think dark bread crust) with layers of caramel, a touch of honey, and a dry, biscuity finish. There's a restrained bitterness that brings a nice hop bite, spicy white pepper, and some lemongrass. A bit nutty toward the end with a semi-astringent. grain husk linger. Things get a bit resiny and earthy too.

Dovetail's Vienna-style Lager is a damn good example of the style that leans toward traditional versus modern American. Definitely seek it out.

They nail that toasted malt background for the style. Really a very nice, crisp lager with a nice balance of toasted malt and noble hop bite. Altogether well done.

Cloudy dirty bronze body with a dark white cap. Grains, sneaky bitter hops, and austrian yeast. Taste is malty and yeasty up front providing a bready complexion before the hops bring it home with a more bitter and dry feeling to an otherwise grainy and bready body. A fine lager

Porter is a rustic orange with a fan, white head. Plenty of carbonation.
I wonderful smell of malt and braiding this. Is that a slight cherry detect? Sweet grain and very slight coffee.
Taste of roasted malt and bread that you would expect out of a good Vienna Lager. I notice the hop in this one more than others and it is wonderful. Roasted nut and coffee.
Wholesome mouthfeel.

Trade thanks to falloutsnow, canned 7/08/20
Pours a med-small fizzy head with med retention, bit of soapy lacing, hazy amber to orangeish color, nice but would have liked it to be a bit clearer

Nose brings a nice VIenna malt, toasted bread crust, toasty grain, a little sweetness, a little bready doughy yeast note, faint caramel/toffee note, touch of herbal hops

Taste is similar, nice grainy, sweet, Vienna malt up front, toasted grain, some bread crust notes, and a touch of caramel sweetness, in general a bit on the sweet side for my taste but within style, hops kick in with a little herbal spicy note, med to lighter bitterness, nice soft lager notes, finishes a bit drier with med-lighter bitterness and herbal hops, a bit of the toasted malt lingering, quite toasty

Med bod, bordering syrupy but doesn't get there, med to a bit higher fizzy almost prickly carb

Overall pretty nice Vienna, an old world take on it, not the style that transitioned to Mexican Lager style, so one I expect to get in Austria. Well lagered, soft, with a nice Vienna malt profile, hops are a bit on the light side but good, and overall a bit on the sweet side but again within style.

sampled from a one pint can - beer is a rich, amber orange color - has a large head that gradually dissipates leaving a decent amount of lacing - aroma features a distinct hop forward nature, with a lack of malt presence - this hop forwardness continues on the palate with notes of orange childrens' aspirin at the forefront - nice mouthfeel with a refreshing level of carbonation - this is not a bad beer by any means - however I have to lower my score for it because I really don't feel it is representative of the Vienna style at all - this drinks very much like a hop-forward pilsener

Appearance: Pours a clear copper color with nearly no head.
Aroma: Aroma of dried cherry and wheat breaded malts. Definitely syrupy caramel and honey.
Taste: Flavor of cherry, fig, with a syrupy toasted wheat bread malt. Much like French Toast.
Feel: Light bodied. Mild carbonation. Finishes peppery and dry. Very clean.

Overall: Slightly underwhelmed here. Maybe I'm used to more robust versions of the style. This one is lighter, cleaner, and definitely sessionable. Malt flavor is mild and dried up and largely wiped away in the finish. You really have to let it warm to appreciate any malt flavor behind the hops. However, it drinks similar to a California Common or Steam beer with more hops. It hits the right flavors, but a tamed Vienna lager for sure.

Canned on (?)/27/20 (presumed within the past 2-3 months)

Pours a translucent, deep copper-orange body capped with a dense, foamy 3 fingers of slightly off-white head; good retention leaves a creamy, thin layer of cap and collar along with a thick, uniform webbing of lacing.

Aroma opens with a boisterous caramel malt sweetness, bready and rich without overwhelming the bouquet, and taking on a toastier texture over time; subtle florality and mild peppery tones along the middle meld with fruity lager yeast on the close.

Taste shows plenty of caramel malts and brown bread crusts upfront as a peppery florality proceeds over the mid-palate; fruity lager yeast and touches of burnt sugar highlight a sweet char on back end.

Mouthfeel features a light body with ample, fluffy carbonation dispersing a sudsy, soft prickle across the palate as it fades; consistent and rounded over the mid-palate, while increasingly clean into the finish, with a vague pillowy grit lingering into moderate dryness.

Robust and rich in sweet, malty tones, this lager's soft touch allows it to maintain an overall balance, and satisfies as a steady, flavorful example of the style.

On tap into a pint glass. A slightly hazy golden color with a medium white head. There was a nice bready and slightly sweet aspect to the aroma and the taste. Quite clean tasting, highlighting the malt. Bitterness was low but balanced the malt well. A great representation of the style
