never heard of these guys before now, but seeing them around a bit, weird name for a brewery, im sure there is some meaning or reference there that i just dont get. in any event, i think they are with shelton or twelve percent or something, which i guess gives them a sort of instant street cred. this beer is good, a solid ipa, well made, not overly hazy or heavy, refined well for the style, and quite drinkable for its strength, i have absolutely no issues with it, except for that fact that at the same time that its good, there is also absolutely nothing unique about it, it could have come from any competent brewer who follows the trends really. with new beers i expect new experiences, maybe a flavorful house yeast, maybe an interesting dry hop in a beer like this, a heritage or local grain, but from what i can tell there is none of that, might as well have come from as test tube rather than a farm brewery, which these guys claim to be. that is not a criticism, just an observation. there are a million operations making ipa in this style at this level of quality, i wanted something to stand out more to me, but at least its good and fresh! i like it not being overly hazy or heavy, and i dont care that its a little bit off dry, it works to extend the hops through the finish. professionally done, but otherwise somewhat unremarkable, which is the last thing i expected from these guys...

From an undated pint can, pours a very slightly hazy deep orange. Not much foam, but the beer is appropriately carbonated. Smell is mostly floral, with some tropical and citrus notes. Taste follows. Low bitterness, medium feel. A good, well-made beer, but not what I would call a NEIPA.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy medium golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy bitterness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Hardly an NEIPA as claimed, but a great DIPA. Probably Amarillo, Columbus, Centennial, Chinook, Cascade hops. All citrus/stone fruits. Juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; balanced bready malts, not overly sweet/heavy. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Pint can from 101 Bottles for $4.49+. No idea how fresh it is, no canning date. Split with Lisa in Kent.

Great lacing, otherwise not so good. Nose is malty caramel. Flavor slightly better, not good. Thin and boozy.

Pretty crappy overall, esp for the price. Avoid.
