Peach's Grill

Stopped by for lunch with the family, typical bar and grill atmosphere. Plenty of room around, also had a nice patio. The beers on tap were good not great. Lots of differnt options but nothing big stuck out. They had a wide mix of regional and national craft beers. The food was tex-mex style with a few others thrown in. I would come here again and hope they had more hardcore craft on tap next time.

 

Vibe: Tourist trap kind-of-a-place. Good music scene. One of the best open mic nights with Rob Heiliger has been hosting for years. Can be awesome to ok but Rob always plays which is worth it.
Quality: Average to good quality offerings. Beer lines can be poorly maintained at times. It has been really inconsistent through the years sometimes being badly maintained. Prices can be high especially on some beers.
Service: Service is THE star here. There are a few slackers but Bill is ridiculously great! Jonas, Aaron, Mandy, Doug all are outstanding and a couple of others whose names elude me.
Selection: Good representation but cans prices can be absurdly expensive. The draft selection varies from excellent to not having a good mix at times. See above about line maintenance.
Food: Average to good. A little more offerings than standard pub fare.

Good Food. Ok beer selection

Rather typical college bar. Around 20 taps, decent selection, but nothing leaped out at me. Two separate bar areas, both with nice, old back bars. Just had a couple of appetizers which were fine. Bartender was friendly enough. Pretty quiet during an early Thur. afternoon. Might be a fun place at night with a band playing.

 

 

 

Vibe: This place is located right at the junction of Route 68 and the Little Miami Scenic Trail. They have some outdoor seating in the front and seating inside at the bar and tables. There is a stage towards the back for bands when they have live music.

Quality: My beer was served at the proper temperature in a pint glass.

Service: Our server was friendly and was kind enough to offer to bring out empty soup cups and bowls so we could see how big each size was. There was not a long wait to take the order, get the drinks and food, and for the check.

Selection: They had about 17 beers on-tap when I visited, including ones from Abita, Breckenridge, Dogfish Head, Great Lakes, Lagunitas, Left Hand, New Belgium, Stone, Three Floyd's and Triton.

Food: I tried a turkey wrap for lunch and it was pretty good, although next time I think I would opt for a different side other than French Fries.

 

While visiting family in Springfield, my brother in-law recommended this place. The place is situated in what seems to be a hipster-ish town of Yellow Springs. The place is inviting and comfortable, even if it is a little rough around the edges. There is a stage for live music, and a couple of seating areas.

The servers are friendly and attentive, even though they don't seem to know much about the beer menu.

The food is moderate at best; fairly standard menu for this type of place. Burgers and fries, with some Mexican influenced items as well. The beer menu is pretty decent for the area. Around 15-20 taps, ranging from fairly standard to pretty decent. Bells, Brooklyn, Stone, and Founders were all featured on the tap list, and there was a fairly good range of styles as well; too often these type of places focus too heavily on IPA's and big Stouts.

All in all, this is a pretty good place with a good beer selection.

I've written on Peach's in the past, but it was a duplicate listing so I will issue an updated review.

The main hangout in the uber-liberal town of Yellow Springs.
Atmosphere is decent, with two rooms of tables, two bars (one which generally stays closed in off-hours) and an outdoor patio. Decor is mostly sparse, with beer signs and a mural toward the bathrooms.

Although they have a full bar, craft beer is the focus of Peach's, and they feature ~25 beers on tap any given time, only 5 being macro products (Bud, Bud Light, Guinness, Harps, Bass), along with ABA & Purple Haze as permanent taps. The rest are rotating craft offerings. Some will be fairly pedestrian to regular craft drinkers, but you're always guaranteed at least a couple features. My most recent visit they had Founders Porter and ST Pumking on tap. They also feature a full line of Great Lakes, Sam Adams, Brooklyn, and a few others in bottles.

Food can be hit-or-miss; they recently changed their menu around, and everything I've tasted has been fairly good (if a bit pricey). The nacho plate is huge, the pita/hummus plate is very tasty, and their burritos are tasty. One big drawback for me is the salads, which are exclusively iceberg lettuce. In a town with an eclectic palate, this is inexcusable.

Service is always attentive, though when they are packed it can take some time to get initial attention from a server. Otherwise, a great spot in a great town. Get lunch, drink a couple pints of great beer, then walk it off along Dayton Ave, Xenia Ave, or the bike trail.

The beer is the star here! In the nice, college-hippie town of Yellow Springs, you'll find this laid-back bar with a great beer selection.

I shall admit that -after having heard many good things about this bar- I expected more from their beer list. But it was not bad at all! New Holland Mad Hatter, Bell's, Southern Pumkin, New Holland Rod, Bear Republic Pete's Brown, Weyerbacher Harvest, Arrogant Bastard, North Coast Pranqster... A small but focused selection. Nothing huge or boozy, but nice.

Service was very nice, everyone is so attentive here! A little busy at the bar but fine service. And what about the prices! $4.25 for a pint, and $3.00 during Sundays and other Happy Hour times. Beautiful.

Didn't try food, seems to be mostly Mexican?

Although not terribly impressed by the beer selection, I would definitely go back if I'm in the area. Cheers!

A nice place to visit if you are in the area. Peaches has 15 or so solid craft options with some staples such as arrogant bastard and two hearted. The pints run between 3-5$. They do have a small selection of bottles in a cooler not many (only ones that I could see were lineups of Great Lakes and Brooklyn Brewing). The food was decent and not too expensive. The service wasn't bad but it took the bartender 5 minutes or so to stop her conversation with a fellow patron when the three of us were the only ones in the place.

Overall a nice place with a decent selection and decent prices.

Was very impressed by the selection for such a small place. In town for a show at Peaches, not expecting to actually have a great tap selection.

We were up against Arrogant, Maudite, several Bells (incl 2Hearted) Bar Harbor Blueberry, and quite a few more, prolly 15 taps, including standards like guinness harp and bass.
Also had a great small-time porter here, tho can't remember the brewer.

Service was pretty good, tho they lost a point because the first chick plastic-cupped me. (Come on, really? 4 glasses is too much?) They did serve the maudite in the proper glass.

Atmosphere (during a show) was fun and easy going, friendly people in this town.

There wer bottles in a cooler, however it was dark, and the cooler had no light, and with the tap lineup, I wasn't going to force past people and strain to read bottles. Get a light.

Bartender was willing to accomodate when I asked to mix a couple drafts as well, a little blueberry two hearted to finish the night. (Next time, 1/4 blue, instead of 50/50)

Beers ran about 3.50 for most, I think 5 for maudite.
All in all, really impressed at such a lineup in a small joint.
Will definitely return again.

PS. Peaches is also walking distance from the only motel in town (Spings motel) whch was helpful.

It seems that I can't go into a restaurant anymore, no matter how ordinary or upscale, and actually find clean silverware, plates and glasses on the table. Well, I'm pleased to announce that Peaches (or is it Peach's?) has one hell of a dishwasher. Clean stuff all the way around.

Anyway, I stopped in here on Memorial Day with my wife and kids after a grueling hike at John Bryan State Park, and the Oberon that I had never tasted better. Then I moved on to a Rogue Hazelnut and finished up splitting an Arrogant Bastard with my significant other. All of the beers were fresh and tasty - this place had about 20 or so thoughtful taps, a refreshing change from the BMC/NASCAR world that surrounds this "we want to be so different that we're all the same" hippie-wanna-be enclave.

The atmosphere was a tad dingy (although they did have a nice outdoor patio eating area), and still reeked of stale cigarette smoke, with torn vinyl booths and a real 70's look to it. Service was friendly and efficient.

The food leaves ALOT to be desired. Apparently, nobody in Yellow Springs is aware of the fact that there are other types of lettuce besides Iceberg. When I order a Chicken Fajita salad, it'd be nice to have a little Romaine or Leaf (at the very least), and the straight-out-of-the-can fire-truck red salsa was just plain gross. My wife's burger was dry, and the bun was right off the grocery store shelf (ala fast food). Yuck.

Ups and downs abound here, but the beer selection alone makes it a worthwhile stop.

Yellow Springs is a very nice, hip college town. It's small, quiet and socially diverse, with many interesting shops, stores and restaurants, including one of Dave Chapelle's old hangouts.

This is quite a popular place in Yellow Springs. It was packed when I was there, and for pretty good reason.

It's a very active atmosphere. Not quite the place you want to go to if you're looking to relax, but a good fun atmosphere. They get bands pretty regularly. The seating is a bit close, but that doesn't take away much from the place.

They have a great food menu and the food you get is very good.

The beer selection is excellent. They had a great variety of, I think 20 beers on tap. There was Two Hearted, Arrogant Bastard, Pyramid, some other Bell's beers, Bar Harbor, Guinness, Harp and a lot of others. I opted for the Two Hearted Ale. I got a stadium pour, but that was ok. I wasn't about to waste a pint of it.

You may not find yourself in Yellow Springs very often, but if you live the Cincinnati, Dayton or Columbus area, head to Yellow Springs and stop at Peach's. You won't be sorry.

If you're stuck in mid Ohio then Peaches is a great place to visit. They have a great selection of draft brew, including Stone IRS. The selection changes regularly and is of consistiently high quality. The food menu hasn't changed in over the 2 years I have been visiting and the music is way too loud for conversation after 9:00. They have an outdoor dining area that lets you watch the traffic through the quaint city. Nice place, highly recommended. The city is full of hippie like charm, very liberal and clean.
Revised as of 7/11. Finally a change in the food menu. New choices that are as well prepared as their regular fare. This is a much needed change. The tap list is still good, marred only by the lack of willingness to try any over the top brews that happen to make it to the area.

I'll have to admit that I'm pretty partial to Peaches. The first time I ever went was before they expanded it and it was just a small restaurant/bar/drive thru. I remember my boyfriend ordering a Great Lakes Edmond Fitzgerald on draught (I wasn't of legal drinking age at the time) and sneaking me sips of it. It was one of those building blocks into the loving world of micros for me. Wow. I remember it being the most delicious thing i'd ever had! Since then they've expanded the building, and it now has a much larger bar and seating area, a covered patio, and a stage for bands. The ambiance is down to earth and colorful, and so are the people you'll find inside. They have 20 something craft brews that honestly do not rotate all that often, but are decent in terms of what Ohio can get. Peaches has awesome "bar" food, and really caters to vegetarians. I've tried the ceaser salad, a few different burritos, and the pitas and hummus dips appetizer, all of which were very yummy IMO. I'd rather eat that kind of stuff over unhealthy hamburgers and deep fried anything anyday, although it is far from "gourmet". But, Peaches isn't "that" kind of place and that's one of the charming aspects of it. Service can be slow, but it's always been friendly, and the staff seems to be pretty knowledgeable in the beers they carry. Peaches is a great place to go on a sunny relaxing afternoon. Have a walk around town or thru the park and then settle at Peaches and sit out on the patio with good friends and good beers.

Peaches is always a place I love to go this time of year when it's warming up outside and the sun is shining ever so brightly and you can sit on the porch and sip on one of there 20 or so good draught selections.

There food menu is actuallly very diverse and very good. I'd definitely recommend the hummus and pita bread as an appetizer, ,their burritos are damn good also. And they also have very good wraps. The reuben is good as well as the black bean burger.

Service is ify sometime but that's kind of what to expect in Yellow Springs. Everything in this town moves in somewhat slow motion.

This is a fair sized bar and grill at the edge of downtown Yellow Springs. Interesting atmosphere inside, as is everything in Yellow Springs. Almost divided into a couple different bars. There is a stage set up for live music as well. We ate ouside on the covered patio, which is a treat on a beautiful evening. Very good tap selection. The stated 20 beers on tap, almost all craft brew. GLBC Ed.Fitz., FFF Alpha King, Arrogant Bastard, Oak Barrell Stout, DFH 90 minute to name a few. All beers served in pint glasses, at a reasonable price. Service was pretty slow, but we were not in a hurry, so we were noth discouraged too much. Fairly large menu with burgers, salads, sandwiches, mexican. Foord was better than average. Overall, this is a good place to stop in, have a beer or 2, some food and sit outside or catch live music inside.

I love this place.

I went to college at nearby Cedarville University. My roomates and I used to drive to this place all the time. We went here when it was just a little dive joint serving bean quesadillas. Now that the remodeling is done, they have an amazing tap list, great entertainment, and awesome food.

Last time I was here My buddy and I came for lunch and split an artichoke spinach dip. The dip came out with big juicy chunks of artichoke, and gently toasted slices of frech baguets, sprinkled with freshly shaved pargmisian cheese. I forgot what we ordered for lunch, but we each ordered a nice Robert the Bruce (very tasty), and were offered a sample (big FREE sample, I might add..) of thatyears bigfoot ale.

Our waiter was very friendly, and spent a considerable amount of time discussing beers with us. He was courteous, and did not hesitate to offer us samples of beer on tap.

This place will alway be special for me. I love this pace, and things here seem to only get better. If you are ever in Yellow Springs, Ohio, be sure to stop by. You wont be disappointed.

NOTE: try going around lunch time, as it can be busy at night, and also during the weekends (Read: tourist town)

This beer and bar food spot recently upgraded their tap system to go from 6 taps to 27! Great selection of micro brews ranging from GLBC to Thirtsty Dog, Pyramid, Avery, et al. The only bad beer showing was Bud and boy did it ever look out of place among the tap handles. Several big seating areas and occasional entertainment. Remodeling is incomplete but this looks to be a great future stop for beer, food and entertainment. The kitchen service is currently stopped due to the remodeling (5/10/03). Parking is very limited in the area and the lot is inadequate for the bar's size.
