12 oz. Pours light ruby to amber with a thin lasting white head. Lacing sticks.

The smell is of hibiscus tea with floral hop notes and black currants.

The taste is of light floral hop notes and light malt. Black currants come through. Light salt in the finish.

It is appropriately light-bodied (fits the general character of the brew). Smooth and refreshing.

A unique beer- something different. A mild APA with notes of black currants that don't overwhelm. Twist of salt enhances it.

Aroma is berries/berry juice, malts and mild sweetness. The flavor is berries/berry juice/fruit, malts, a hint of minerals and tart/mildly sweet/spicy hop finish.

Pleasantly surprised by this one. Picked up a single at the local grocers intrigued by the black currant aspect. Expected more sweetness but it was refreshing and smooth. Amber color with a slightly foamy head, smells of plum and apricot, smooth to the nth degree. Would recommend as a very drinkable ale.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark coppery amber with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and grassy hops, lemon, grapefruit with a hint of dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus hops, grapefruit and lemon rind, berries, a little floral with a touch of saline. Finishes with grapefruit rind hops and berries. Picked this up as an unknown brewery and was intrigued by the berry and saline addtions with a active sport emphasis. Delivers on the pale ale with black current promise; this is a good light pale ale and the berry character is clear, but well balanced. The saline was a bit of an off-note for me, I've tasted it before in oyster stouts (which seems appropriate), but it is unexpected in a pale ale. It is a light presence, but clearly some salt presence. That seems in line with the post-sports theme of the brewery, and is well handled, but is not something I'd look for again. Interesting and refreshing. A novel approach to a pale ale that works well. Apparently has been gluten reduced too, which makes it a bit more impressive.
