Our Fastest Known Time (FKT) was born to break records and is inspired by that finish line moment.

The well-balanced pale ale is brewed with blackcurrants which carry four times the vitamin C as oranges per serving, and bolster gut and kidney health. It’s a well-balanced Pale Ale with a playful tanginess from the black currant and citra, azacca, and magnum hops. The beer stands on its own — the benefits are a bonus.

Sufferfest Beer Co. "FKT"
12 fl. oz. can "PKGD 080219C13:20"

Notes via stream of consciousness: This is an unusual pale ale that's brewed with salt and black currants, and crafted to remove gluten. It's poured a hazy deep amber with a pinkish sheen beneath a short head of white foam. The aroma clearly expresses black currants over a grainy malt base. The flavor follows with more sweetness than the aroma suggests; I thought it was going to be a bit tart but it's not. The salt is present as well, but there's nothing else beyond that. Should I call it one-sided, two-sided, or three-sided? Of course a beer doesn't need to be complex to be good, and in fact, it's far more complex than some of the economy lagers that I've had from around the world. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. The head has held up well and it's left some decent lacing about the glass. All in all I'm going to call it a very decent fruit beer that's at least a little unique in its use of Black Currants.

not often does a beer give me the so called wow factor but this one does. Dark orange copper color, extreme lacing, and very deep complex taste. A tad bit heavy and probably not the best hot weather thirst quesncher, but if you like a hoppy complex brew, you might want to give this one a try. If you can find it that is as I only obtained a couple can by chance.

APPEARANCE: Pours a funky peachy amber, with an average head of off-white suds. Little to no lace.

AROMA: Fruity hops. I think the black currant comes through primarily over the citrus hops here.

TASTE: Berries up front, with plenty of hops underneath. Body is clean and textured with slightly bitter coating on the palate. Salt comes in near the finish, too. Unusual mix, but solid and enjoyable.

Appearance - The beer poured a purplish red color with visible carbonation and a white head crowning the glass.

Smell - The beer had a grainy nose that brought to mind wheat (which it was not).

Taste - Between the wheat and the salt, this tastes like gose. The currants give the beer a light fruity aspect. It does not go to style, but it is very drinkable.

Mouthfeel - The carbonation is somewhat aggressive, brushing away sweetness quickly.

Overall - The beer is much more like a gose, but I like it.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a pint glass.
Appears pinkish with nice light pink foamy head that dropped quickly into a small cap with slight lacing.
Smells lightly crackery, fruity, berry, lemony.
Taste follows the nose with some salt
Mouth feel is medium for a pale ale.
Overall an interesting pale ale with the currants and salt.
I would definitely drink it again.

Mine says its 4.5% ABV FWIW

Pours like pink Chablis with 2 finger of pinkish head. Nice lacing slightly better than average head lacing

S: Berry notes, not a lot

T: Berries, salt and a little grassiness up front. Some hints of lime mix with the Black Currant and dryness as this warms plus saltyness as this warms. Finishes with salt, a little black currant touch & a little dryness plus lime

MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation, okay balance

Ann odd, but drinkable APA, but if you would told me it was a Gose I probably would give it a higher rating. Drinks easy enough
