Notes: This New England style IPA utilizes a simple grain bill and a significant portion of flaked oats. Equinox, Citra, and Mosaic hops take the stage to create bright flavors and aromas of melon, berry, orange peel, lime, papaya, pine, and fresh peppers.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.

S: Tropical and stone fruit, citrus, earthy herbal notes, berries, a touch of pine, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

T: Citrus, orange, lemon, and lime, tropical and stone fruit, mango, papaya, apricot, peach, blueberry, passion fruit, and a hint of melon, herbal earthy spice, a little pine, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate.

O: Equanot hops and I don't have the best relationship due to the herbal peppery flavor they throw, so I was a little worried going in. That flavor is there, and it definitely jumped out to me on the first few sips, but as things warm up it shifts a bit more into the background adds to the depth of flavor. Personally not my favorite, but overall it is a well made beer and I'm sure there are people who don't mind that flavor as much who will score this higher.

Oh man, when I first got this beer back in early 2017, it had those janky home printer like labels. The blue and black one.

Anyways, pours a light yellow color, hazy, 1/2" white head. All them flaked oats really muckin' up the appearance, but given the style, what can you do? Aroma smacks all the proprietary hop notes these days. Plenty of Citra and Mosaic doing their usual sweet citrus, tropical fruit and equator like humidity on top of a pile of indoor grown weed.

Taste is an excursion into hops as the only flavor device, all that flaked oat and neutral yeast stays the hell out of the way so that the Equinox hop kicks down some bittering notes upside all that Citra and Mosaic lushness. As usual, the body for Moonraker makes any alcohol notes completely invisible to the taste buds. No hop or alcohol burn here.

Yet again, there is another uber delicious hoppy beer from Moonraker that can pretty much hang with any of the world class producers that get way more hype.

Can shared at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, canned late August 2019. Pours a cloudy golden color and a sticky/frothy white head. Aroma's: tropical (sweet) fruit and dank. Retronasal the dank hops are upfront. Flavor is moderate bitter with some fruity/juicy sourness. Medium bodied. Long moderate bitter finish.

L: Pours hazy yellow with zero clarity. Tons of head formed, so much so that I had to really slow the pour. Copious amounts of residual lacing.
S: Melon with hints of apricot, lemon and mango. Mild grassy profile as well.
T: Really nice and mellow. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, bubble gum, peach and guava. Very mild hop profile.
F: Medium in body and in weight. Soft feel with nice loft on the tongue. Great feel for a beer of this stature.
O: A highly enjoyable offering. Can't beat it at the lower abv. I am very glad to have tried. Cheers!

This unique IPA poured a very light straw reminiscent of an American wheat beer, with a white foamy head that dissipated quickly. The hop note was readily apparent from my seated position at the table without having to stick my nose into the glass. The essence of citrus, spice and tropical fruits was kindled, but my untrained pallet detected an abundance of white grapefruit. The mouth feel was light without a malty tone, however the beer supported the hops quite well. This offering from Moonraker was 6.8% ABV and I had eagerly consumed half the glass before noticing the alcohol content on the can. There was absolutely no detected alcohol "burn" from this beer at all. The aftertaste was definitely from the Citra hops and was a quite pleasant finish.

Canned on date of 12/08/16

Appearance - Pours hazy and straw yellow in color with an off-white, near finger width head. Fair retention, resulting in a mostly barren surface with a razor thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Tiny spots make up most of the lacing.

Smell - Moderate aroma, hitting on cantaloupe and/or honeydew melon, banana skin and faint spice.

Taste - Follows the nose. Canteloupe and honeydew melon upfront and throughout, with a touch of banana skin. Faint, faint citrus. Flavor intensifies as it gets warmer, which is a good thing. Mild spice and a bit of pith bitterness joins the melony flavors and banana skin in the aftertaste. Fair acidic bite in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth, slightly silky texture makes this an easy drinker.

Overall - A good and unique take on the NE-Style IPA. That said, I like their Yojo better. Maybe an occasional buy, but nothing I'd take the trip up to Auburn specifically for.
