Sweet, citrus-juicy, hint of tropical, hoppy nose on this one! A little dankness is in the aromatics if I try hard enough. Taste follows with a sweet, orange-citrus, bitter finish that is well-balanced initially. As it warms, though, the citrus bitterness becomes just a tad overcooked for my palate. It probably just needs a little more time to settle in as this was canned just a few days ago. It has fantastic depth and outstanding mouthfeel! The swallow is so soft-on-the-palate...Great!

Pours a hazy golden straw with a finger and a half of foamy head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring with some lacing. Aroma of pineapple and citrus. Taste follows nose.

Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: n/a
From: Don
Purchased: n/a; Received July 10, 2021
Consumed: July 14, 2021
Misc.: Canned on July 1, 2021
Thanks, Don!
Was lucky enough to see that Don gave me a can of this on the day I was leaving his place after stopping over there on our way home from Washington. Online description read “NE DIPA with Galaxy and Citra. Pineapple, mango and herbal dankness. This beer is a juice bomb!” Damn, looking forward to this one.
Poured a light golden hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect layered spiderweb foamy lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 5.00)
Smelled really good right from the first whiff. Very impressive. In order got Citra, grapefruit, pineapple, Galaxy, mango, tangerine rind, passion fruit, peach, citrus pulp and melon. Not quite as good out of the can but still solid. (Smell - 4.50)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose but still pretty solid. Galaxy came in here a little more than the nose. In order Galaxy, passion fruit, tangerine rind, orange, mango, Citra, pineapple, grapefruit, melon, peach and citrus pulp. Nice and smooth for 8.5 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Just an excellent hazy double IPA. Really enjoyed this one, especially the aroma. (Overall - 4.25)

Had this at the end of the 2019 (listening to Got You (At the End of the Century) right now, close, but not quite).
Pours a cloudy bleh yellow color, nowhere close to clarity, but a few viscosity grades from being gravy also. 1/3" white head. Nose has the hallmarks of Citra and Galaxy, the pineapple and orange notes, but there was this light almost Sabro like pepper/bell pepper like aspect.
Taste continued to push my Sabro conspiracy theory despite the brewery's claim of no Sabro. A light orange, pineapple, grapefruit rind, popsickle stick fruit bouquet still matching a very light underpinning of pepper. Mouth feel is prickly despite it not seeming to be a higher carbonation level. Hides the alcohol decently, but for being this cloudy of a beer, I expected it to be less bitter. I ain't no can't drink bitter beer pussy, but you know, just talkin' expectations here.
I guess I am in a big minority here, but this was below average for Moonraker for me. That is still to say its better than 90+% of other breweries dipas, but all in all . . .

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy pale beige head that settles to a firm layer and laces beautifully.
S: Ripe tropical fruit and citrus run the show, slight floral and grassy notes, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Big tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, guava, peach, and apricot, citrus, tangerine, lemon, lime, and grapefruit, faint grassy herbal notes, biscuity malt, caramel sweetness, and just a touch of alcohol pokes though as it warms.
M: On the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate, creamy smooth.
O: Most NE IPAs are soft, but this had an extra level of creaminess. Really nice use of 2 great hops.

Orange juice appearance, white thin cap and light lacing. Apricot, peach, orange, pineapple, mango intersect with dank, herbal and slightly zest hops in the nose. Taste is juicy with the fruit before the dank hops round out in a balancing but not dominant way. Grapefruit and lemon emerge more from the depths. Feel is super bright, decently juicy, hops are dank and lightly bitter, mellow feel overall. Overall very good neipa

Fantastic head production and retention. Body is lemon yellow and pulpily opaque. People can rightfully dislike the hazy IPA as a style, but within that style, the appearance of this beer is superb.
Nose is smooth and hoppy, but other than some bright herbal notes, it's just generally fruity, revealing little.
Similar on the palate: semi-sweet, smooth, hop-forward, with a doughy malt body, but not a lot of particular hop tones. Honey, perhaps mango, mint, orange, and banana. Blends together overall quite well, and it's delicious. Low bitterness; no notable astringency.
Nearly perfect on the palate: smooth, with almost no bite or sting. Creamy and soft, not at all syrupy.
