Craft Room

The Craft Room is just a stone's throw down the pedestrian street from Tolkein House making for a nice concentration of beer choices in a small area. They had around 12 taps about half of which were Croatian crafts with the other half from other parts of Europe, plus a decent bottle selection. It's a fairly large place with streetside patio seating, main and basement (apparently - we did not see it) floors, and a second story rooftop patio. The place was quite dead on a weekday mid-afternoon which was not a bad thing for us as our knowledgeable bartender was able to focus on explaining the local beer scene and providing samples to us. Seems to be a pretty good place for that part of Europe

I was a little disappointed with this place. I had read many good things, but overall it didn't live up to the hype. Both times I visited (three weeks apart) they were out of most of the best beers on the menu. The second time I went they only had about 25% of the beers that were published on the menu. The first time I stopped in I did have the pork sandwich and onion rings and they were excellent. The beers I did have were good quality and enjoyable. I guess I would say just don't get your hopes up!
