CITRA Belgian-Inspired NEIPA is Greater Good’s take on a Belgian IPA, meaning that it is hopped up to drink like a hazy, Imperial IPA but features a Belgian yeast that will give hints of a saison while retaining the pillowy mouthfeel. Loaded up with Citra hops in the dry-hop, Citra smells and tastes like a fresh dive into a bag of Citra hops!

What a great idea! My two favorite styles - Belgian and Hazy combined to make a really tasty IPA. The short version: This is a REALLY GOOD ONE! In all aspects. Well worth a try - Definitely Recommended!

Interesting beer, dry with strong yeast presence. Citrusy without being juicy, flavors of lemon and mango. Not what one expects from a hazy IPA, which is a nice change of pace.

Hazy yellow and orange body with a full pearl white head and spotted and crowned lacing. Aromas of pine and dry hops, bready yeast, with predominant citrus and mango. Taste has all of that, I notice with the interactions of hops and yeast they combine to give off cantaloupe and lychee. More floral than piney here. Feel has good dry belgian yeast character with constant hops but they are more dry than sharp. New world but quite a tasty belgian ipa

Many thanks to DrOfGolf for this can!
A - Opaque medium to dark golden orange color with vibrant white foam circling the top of the glass.
S - Yeasty dank citrus aroma slams the nose along with a slight bit of bubble gum and spiciness.
T - Peach, passion fruit, citrus, and a small bit of sweet grapefruit and gooseberry. Starts sweet and ends on the sweeter side with some lingering citrus rind and yeastiness. The mouth is coated with a hefty layer of fruity dryness.
M - Big pillowy soft body that's a little chewy and ends dry on the back of the tongue.
O - This is a fantastic D-IPA and well worth trying.

Pours a hazy, medium golden amber with a big, four finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and tropical fruit hops, orange, grapefruit, mixed tropical fruit and green onion. Flavor is pale malt, citrus, tropical fruit and dank hops, orange, grapefruit, mango, melon and a bit of dankness in the finish. Pleasant moderate bitterness and herbal hops in the lingering finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I took a chance with this hazy because of the Belgian IPA label and of course, Citra hops. It does have some the hop softness of NE IPAs, but thankfully has a decent, long lasting bitterness; not as intense as I might hope, but more than satisfactory. Not really getting any "Belgian" here in the malt or yeast, except the hops do seem to be quite fruity like a Belgian yeast might provide, so maybe they are conflated. No matter, this has a very nice, complexly flavored hop component, more than I'd expect from just Citra, which is well presented here in citrus flavors, but there are lots of mixed tropical and melon flavors too, as well as a mild onion note in aroma and taste, which can add a lot of interest if it is mild enough as here. I face any hazy with trepidation, but this is one of the great ones; lots of hop flavors from the unfiltered hops, but bitterness that keeps it from tasting like fruit juice. It also has a healthy golden color instead of the more common pallid tone. If this arrived in my area, I'd be pleased to get it again. Not getting the Belgian, but this is a solid IPA in my book.

Here's two things that I don't often have together as one; a Belgian IPA and it's from Greater Good. I recently tried them again for the first time in a while, and figured I would start picking up some of the ones that caught my eye. I've never seen a Belgian IPA with such a high abv, but I suppose its par for the course for GG. Let's see what this one's all about
Pours a hazy pale yellow with 3 fingers of sticky white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves minimal lacing
It's interesting in the nose how the Beligian-esque yeast profile seems to amplify the hops instead of tamping them down. I'm picking up on aromas of orange rind, resinous pine, pithy grapefruit, fruity hops, toasted bread, and light caramel
Wow, color me impressed by the taste of this one. It's unique for the style, opting for a softer approach that still offers a bold depth of flavor. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting lemon rind, juicy grapefruit, bready malt, and light weedy hops. The swallow brings notes of orange rind, white pepper, banana, caramel malt, and piney hops
A medium full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick yet refreshing beer. Finishes off dry with a light sweetness
This one was very good, maybe even my favorite of the style, though my experience with it is limited. Good stuff, I'll have to get it again

Can stamped 06/06/19.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a mild dark yellow/copper murky/hazy color. Slim film of a head, white and foamy. This slid off fairly quick to leave some concave lace.
The aroma had a wonderful blend of spicy herbal hops, some danky onion to garlic tones coming through, then a sweet Belgian bready underneath.
The flavor took all of the prior mentioned aromas to blend sweetly and with a nourishing spiciness flowing into some bubblegum. Aftertaste of a "green"/fresh grassy to bready and spicy hoppiness with some sticky orange pulp.
The mouthfeel was about medium to full bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Sticky citrus clings to my tongue and some hop harshness makes a firewall surrounding my tongue. Carbonation felt good. Finish of sticky citrus, earthy clingy-ness and some bubblegum.
Overall, I like this Belgian IPA, done up quite well and brewed in an imperial sense. It's a good one to come back to.
