Notes:
Our KCBC IPA got bitten by the Hoptopus and is now reborn! Ripe oranges, fresh pineapple and smooth pine. Mosaic, Idaho 7, Cascade & Centennial hops combine to deliver a powerful lupulin punch, backed by a balanced malt base. Soft haze that leans Northeast-ward, with a crisp, moderately-bitter finish for maximum drinkability.

Not getting any nose from this, and the can is only a little over a month old. Taste and mouthfeel also a bit thin. Hmmm I'm just not seeing why the high rating and matching price tag ($4 a can at Trader Joe's).

Poured a cloudy yellow body with one-finger head and lace patches down the glass. Tropical fruit and floral bouquet aroma with some dirty and earthy hops as well. Smooth, crisp, clean, floral, easy to drink as beer has a minor malty sweetness underneath a tropical fruit flavor profile that is sweet but not cloying.

As tropical hoppy as you can get without going full blown overboard hazy. Nice splotchy to smooth head retained on an opaque light amber body. Very topical citrusy aroma that immediately espouses itself. Candy hop and candy malt taste on sip. Refreshing and definitely within the vein of a traditional New England IPA. In that sense it steers more citrusy than other tropical fruits, with a notable mandarin and tangerine essence here, with a hint of grapefruit juice without any bitter whatsoever.

16oz can.
L: Fresh-squeezed oj with a cream head that leaves many rings of lacing.
S: Orange pith and tangerine plus notes of something more herbal and dank.
T: Follows the nose with some ripe peach and mango added. Moderately bitter.
F: Rich & smooth mouthfeel, prickly carbonation and a drying finish.
O: A lovely, subtly dank NEIPA. Properly juicy but not overly sweet. The presence of resin makes for a pleasant change in this style.

This is very good, my favorite from KCBC, some might like a bite more hops, and for that it needs more depth to score higher. Still it’s one of the good ones.

Dated 8/18 on the side of the can, this was the white whale beer of KCBC for me as I had to wait a while to find a single can of thise that was relatively fresh. I hardly go that way in Brooklyn anymore since I stopped driving a cab in New York but I was able to find this at the Bottle King in Wayne and thankfully, it was worth it as I could easily see how this was their most-rated beer on here!
Nice pour to this as it was cloudy, golden, and topped off by a massive, fluffy head that seemingly took all day to settle down. A thin and rocky ring of lacing remained near the middle of my pint glass as the rest of the suds slid down the side of my pint glass. Lots of pineapple, exotic fruit cocktail, soft dankness, and a hint of white grape filled the aroma as there was some tangerine pith and cream, Hawaiian Punch, and a ton of juice as this was incredibly smooth and enjoyable from the get-go down to the last drop. Earthy blueberry patch and sticky, bread in the back ensure that this would be full-flavored and full-bodied down to the last sip as this didn't last in my pint glass for very long!
Lightly carbonated and seemingly a session beer, this was worthy of having 100+ reviews on here as it would be nearly impossible not to enjoy this. This felt like it had oats in it and more importantly, was a great example of what an New England IPA should be in all aspects. No doubt that this deserves a higher rating on here - if for nothing else, than the comic-book label that describes this wonder of a beer nicely!

This one pours a hazy golden yellow color, with a small fluffy head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like citrusy hops, orange, lemon, melon, and piney hops.
This is definitely a solid flagship IPA (I think it's their flagship IPA), with a nice balance between fresh juicy hop character, and a clean and refreshing bitterness.
This is light bodied, clean, slightly creamy, and crisp and clean. It's very drinkable.
This is right up my alley with what I currently crave for IPAs - that big juice character you get from NE-IPAs, but with some actual bitterness on the back end.

16 oz can. Pours muddy golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, bready malt and tropical fruit. Body is full and crisp. Taste is similar to aroma. Finish is long and bitter. Good brew.

One of the best looking heads I've ever seen on a beer. Aroma is very tropical. As is the taste. Just a great blend. Unique, above average IPA. Drink fresh!

16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a hazy yellow gold color with 3 fingers of fluffy white head. The retention is ridiculous. The head eventually "settles" into a massive brick of foam, leaving a lovely crown of cobwebs around the glass. Beautiful beer.
The aroma is oddly pungent with aromas of peppery spice, white grape skin, papaya, cooked onions, and some pine. Interesting...
The flavor has a nice citrusy bite; oranges, tangerines and grapefruit. There's definitely some papaya and white grapes, with just a hint of oniony dankjuice.
The feel is medium bodied with surprisingly good carbonation. It's creamy yet effervescent.
Overall, this is a pretty good NEIPA. The aroma was a bit odd to me, but everything else was well done. It's a gorgeous beer as well. Definitely worth a try.

This starts off hoppy, then goes malty and sweet with caramel, buttery biscuit and toasted grains, and then cuts back to slightly bitter and hoppy with citrus flavors like tangerine, grapefruit, orange peel, Razzles candy, piney notes, some light peppery spices like coriander, and faint floral hops. Smooth and easy to drink, this was enjoyable.

Look: Pours a golden orange color with a moderate haze, and a two finger satin white head. Great head retention, minimal lacing left over on the glass.
Aroma: Malty on the nose, primarily sugarcookies and spongecake with big highlights of savory pineapple and slightly tangy orange. Some soft but spicy pine sap.
Taste: Fairly straightforwards but very good at what it does. There's a slight blueberry thing going on upfront, which transitions into flavors of pineapple and soft coconut cream. Goes slightly bitter midpalate with dry notes of orange peel and grapefruit zest. Ends cleanly on more dry notes of pine sap.
Feel: Soft mouthfeel with a gentle but still noticeable level of carbonated, very easy drinking. Hearty and effervescent but with velvety feel. For something that's almost 7% it drinks like a 5%er.
Overall: Very nice, easy going NEIPA. This beer is simple but nowhere near underwhelming.

Good head production and lacing; OK retention. Body is opaque and an awkward color.
Bright, hoppy, and fresh on the nose, with a juicy bite of papaya and peach along with a hint of vanilla. Nothing unique, but very well executed aroma.
Fairly light on the palate, and danker than the nose implies. Fairly neutral, with a blend of bright herbs and both citrus and tropical fruit. As with the nose, it fails to stand out as anything new, but the execution is quite good. Quite lively on the palate; not perhaps as creamy as others in the style.

CANNED ON: 02/02/21 stamped on bottom-right corner of label. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.
A: Hazy golden hue with 1-2 finger white frothy, rocky head with excellent retention and soap suds lacing.
S: Aroma is bright with hops including tangerine, pineapple, white grapefruit, guava, and cedar with nice herbal slight onion undertones. Esters are fairly low but are enhancing.
T: Flavor is excellent with medium-high intensity fruity hop notes including pineapple, tangerine, orange, grapefruit, and berries in the finish. There are also some herbal grassy notes and pine is pretty hard to miss in the aftertaste as well. Medium bitterness and low but present esters. Alcohol is not apparent.
M: This brew is a lean NEIPA — body is medium at most with moderate carbonation and smooth feel overall with a medium-dry finish.
O: I really likes this beer for its high drinkability and bitterness content which helps with dryness and hop expression.

Look: Pours a nice hazy light orange. Would have liked to have seen a little more of a head
Smell/Taste:Lots of orange and tropical flavors. A little on the sweet side. Not much in the way of bitterness, let alone pine.
Feel: Faiirly smooth. Some maltiness to give it some body. About what one would expect.
Overall: Pretty refreshing. I really enjoyed this and would order again.
