This one pours a very dark black color, with a very syrupy looking body, a tiny head, and no lacing.

This smells like earthy but sweet and cake-like vanilla frosting, caramel, hot chocolate, oak, and just a hint of rum.

There's definitely a whole truck load of vanilla in this beer. It creates quite the syrupy and unweilding flavor here, even though the vanilla is quite delicious. There's some mild coconut and coffee, but not a ton. There is actually a ton of kind of cocoa powder type flavor, almost like hot chocolate basically. The rum barrel is fairly light, as the vanilla seems to have just absolutely drowned any complex barrel flavors. There's some caramel sweetness, but very little oak or rum on the nose.

This is extremely thick and syrupy, with very little carbonation. It's not boozy really at all, but it's so heavy, and sits so thick on the palate. There's no real drinkability to it.

The regular Purple Lemur was much better than this. This is good but it's just so overwhelming.
