Pours to a dark red color that has a slim white head and leaves a nice lacing on the glas.

Smells kinda sweet on first wiff from the malts, but there is a hops presence too.

Taste of biscuity malts and a nice kick of hops.

Medium bodied with good carbonation.

A very good beer.

First had: on tap at their brewery

Poured a reddish amber with a moderate white head, that left just a bit of streaky lacing. Sweet malts in the aroma, and some leafy hops...not too striking. A basic taste: sweet malts, caramel, lightly hopped, with some twinges of mineral and maybe a touch of peat. Medium bodied, basic and fairly drinkable overall, if not too memorable.

On tap at brewery (followed by a growler at home). Beer pours a dark red color with a nice head. Smells like a slight sweet malt, with some hops coming through as well. Taste has a nice balanced feel, with more biscuity malt than I have ever tasted. Nice and medium bodied, very drinkable. Good session beer.

Loved the sampler I had over dinner, so I brought home a growler. Pours a finger and a half of dirty tan head that settles to a half finger layer of froth that just never goes away. Liquid is nearly clear dark orange brown with some red highlights. Gorgeous. Smells biscuity with a minimum of roast. Touch of orangey hop aroma with pineapple and a minimum of clean alcohol.

Tastes sweet malty with a drying biscuity. Tiny roast finish almost comes across as iron or mineral. This is drying, which wipes the wet from the palette. Bit of orangey zing and cherry tartness. Esters are minimum. Hop bittness is present, but minimum. Fuggles character about it, but I'm thinking more of a Goldings in the flavor. A bit of astringency in the end as I work to the bottom of the glass. Ejoyable, but I'll have plenty for another go at it tomorrow. Md mouthfeel and modest carbonation.
