I really am rating this for the outdoor bar overlooking the bay, not the indoor eatery. sitting on the water in the summer is great and this place has hands down the best draft beer on LBI. Paulaner Pilsner and Hefeweizen, Hacker-Pschorr Munich Dark and Dark Hefeweizen and Dab all on tap. They also have some BMC and Guiness and Smithwicks on tap but thats not why you come here. But the service is slow and the food is nothing great. So if you want great German draft beer this is a good beer bar but it could be so much better.

The Dutchman's Brauhaus dates back to the 50's, but the original building was destroyed in a storm. Even the current building has been quite expanded, which lends a bit of authenticity and charm to it's nautical decor.

It's a German-styled restaurant serving Konigsburger Klopse, Kassle Rippchen, different Schnitzels, Ziguener, and so forth (actually, that's most of the German menu), but they also plenty lot of American-style foods, and certainly seafood. It seems as if locals go here for dinner occasionally, but always bring their families in when they visit.

The "tavern" (which is the bar), on the other hand, is always more happening with music and events; and in the summer they open the Quelle outback which is very busy.

I don't know if I would call it a beer bar per se, as the selection is limited (DAB, DAB Dark, Paulaner Hefe Weizen, a dark weizen I can't remember, Smithwick's, and maybe two others) and there are plenty of other macros (Bud Light, Bud Light with Lime, Miller Lite, etc.), but I agree with previous reviewers that it's the best place around.

As for the prices it's a bit pricey, but given the location and the seasonal nature of the business that's to be expected so I've rated them as "reasonable".

This is just before Long Beach Island, and is not easy to get to if you're heading towards the island, but a can't miss if you're heading off the island. In any event, there are not many beer bars in this area and this may be the closest thing.

They serve mainly German dishes and German beers, they have Dab and Dab dark on tap, which is nice. A dark wooden bar on the inside, and during the warmer months a beautiful deck in the back on the outside which provides a scenic view of the Barnegat Bay.

The food is traditional German fare...the service is very good...all employees were the traditional german outfits. This is a good spot to hit if you're vacationing and really need to get away from the macro's. They serve a mean French Onion soup here.
