An austere establishment with not a lot of visual appeal. Seems popular with locals and visitors. Full bar with guest beers. The house beer is a bit pedestrian but they had a Sahti type beer that had me wanting more. About the only beer brewed in Lakeville that I would want again. Several regional favorite styles of beer available. The guest taps were all solid selections. Nice varied food menu. The food was OK. Nothing to complain about but nothing I would go out of my way for. I thought food prices where high but seem to be on par for this town. I would probably just walk over to Heavy Metal Grill next time to eat.

I visited this brewpub while on a business trip to Minnesota. It seems like a very popular neighborhood establishment. On a Tuesday it was really hopping, with lots of couples and families, as well as business outings. The food was okay (I had a decent lamb burger) and the beer was average (cream ale was okay, and the milk stout was ordinary). The staff seemed rushed, but the atmosphere was that of a local cornerstone. Worth a visit, but not worth raving about.

My wife & I chose Lakeville Brewing over Angry Inch as our first stop because our stomachs were rumbling. When we arrived around 7PM the place was busy, with a 15 minute wait for a table. Low music in the background, lots of baseball caps, a few people who'd obviously over-indulged (including an evidently local woman with an incredibly annoying voice), & a pseudo-industrial thing going on. Our table was wobbly, even though this place is fairly new. Overall a bit of a bro-heim vibe coming off the place.

The beer? Not good. Octoberfest good upfront but horrible garbage aftertaste, Wet IPA OK but with a similar, though lighter, aftertaste, IPA OK but with too much aspirin. The milk stout was the star of the show, meaning it was pretty good, though to be fair my wife took one sip & turned away in horror, so maybe I was looking for a beer to enjoy.

Service was OK. Took several minutes before our server showed up, & we had to flag him down if we wanted anything.

Beer selection was pretty good. In addition to the four above I believe they had a lager & a few others. But what's the point of a selection if most of it isn't good.

The food was easily the highlight. We had the sausage/mushroom pasta dish & it was good, as was the hummus plate.

In sum, I'd go back here to eat, then walk over to Angry Inch for beer. The place has been open long enough that serving clearly flawed, borderline undrinkable beer is unacceptable. But to judge by the number of patrons around on a Saturday night, few people seem to mind.
