Picked this up a while ago as I was passing through Texas but I'm unsure as to how old this was since there wasn't a date on the bottom of the can. I like this style of beer but this was really thin, not hazy, and reminiscent of a Fruit / Vegetable beer more than anything else. I'm sure this would hit the spot on a hot day in the Lone State State but stylistically, this wasn't wasn't what I was hoping for...

Lots of tangerine juice to the pour - both in look and appearance. A ton of head topped this off and this felt like it had a ton of bubbles on the palate but amazingly, there was very little lacing left on the side left on the inside of my pint glass once the foam settled down. The aforementioned tangerine, lemon pledge, and grainy malt was on the nose, albeit lightly, as the taste was just as sunny and artificial as my first instinct led me to believe. Wheat? Banana? Clove? Keep looking as you won't find it here and this certainly didn't measure up to the better examples that I've had from overseas.

Thankfully, there wasn't a lot of booze in this as it went right down and almost didn't even feel like beer. Mindless and a bit too grassy for my tastes, this was worth a go once if only to remind me that summer is gone now and that I need to clean the lawnmower beers out of my stash. This would be guilty as charged if one booked this beer on account of not being completely true to form...

A: Pours a cloudy medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate amounts of bright yellow + honey colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy creamy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of wheat + grainy malts with a hint of grainy sweetness. Light to moderate aromas of banana + clove from the yeast.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of wheat + grainy malts with a hint of grainy sweetness. That is followed by just shy of moderate flavors of banana + clove from the yeast. Minimal amounts of bitterness.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: A little more grainy than I would have expected for the style but still easy to drink and enjoyable.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a finger high white head that quickly died down, but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of bananas and grainy malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of grainy malts along with notes of bananas from the yeast.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is usually grainy for a hefeweizen when you would normally expect wheat flavors from the malt bill.

Way too much head. The can overflows when you open it. I have a 48oz glass and one 12 oz can just about overflows the glass. It takes 5 mins after that to settle. It’s foamy no matter the pour. Tried pouring down the side of the glass slow and ended up bloated from the excessive carbonation. Good flavor but I won’t be buying it again. Sad to say blue moon is better....

Overall a good Hefeweizen. It is nice and fruity in smell and taste. Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Orangish yellow body nice head and lacing. Good with grilled chicken!
