I was very disappointed with this beer. Sounded great on paper at the establishment that I went to. Took one sip and told the bartender that I thought it went sour.
They tried it and agreed, but after reviews reading online, that sounds like that's the flavour.

About a 3 inch head that completely dissipates within 6 seconds. Pleasant aroma of coffee and cocoa. Thin, watery mouthfeel almost analogous to cola. Generally OK roasted malt flavor after initial sourness. Overall, a huge letdown from this brewery that has an otherwise great lineup.

Poured from a can. Beer pours with a black appearance and a thin head that dissipates very quickly. Decent aromas of some booze, cocoa, coffee. Tastes like bitter black coffee, especially with the aftertaste. Not too creamy but medium with the carbonation. Overall, good aromas.

Look: pours like a warm cola. Dark but thin and no head to speak of (I did pour gently though).
Smell: some roasted malt. Small coffee nose. Nothing much else.
Taste: anything it had going for it (which wasn't much) is lost here. Tastes like I imagine a lambic cola would taste. Sour notes up front. Roast is almost nonexistent. Tastes like a first extract kit fermented too warm.
Feel: thin and watery.
Trust me, stay away from this one.

L-Dark, dark cola brown looking beer with slight lacy head that dissipates to nothing.
S- Slight chocolate, slight roasted malt. A bit of an oddly phenol aroma as well. A sour stingy soy sauce like aroma is also present. I don't know. The aroma is just kind of off.
T-All I get is some, emphasis on some, roasted malt and some bitterness. Also some biscuit. Maybe a little chocolate? Some sourness. Maybe some black coffee.
F- Lighter than expected. Almost watery.
O- I am not a big fan of this beer. It's a stout, I guess. It has some distinct roasted malt, but it's just not fleshed out enough to even be called "okay". It honestly tastes like a bad home-brew at best. It has no redeeming qualities, honestly, and has an off-putting vibe to it throughout. I couldn't even finish it. I will not seek this one out again, and don't know if I will try anything else from this brewery if they're really putting this on the market.

I've given Legal Draft too many chances. They have the worst IPA I've ever had. This stout is up there too. Has anyone had anything good by them?

Black in color with a tan head that is thick but not dense and disappears quickly. Aroma is mostly that of roasted malt, as is the taste, which is a little on the ashy side and a little too bitter for my taste. Somewhat thin for a stout.

Appearance: Starts to gush out of the can at opening, pours a huge 4 finger head that dies back to a thin ring and no cover. Glass is black, foam is dark tan.

Aroma: Mild sour note, some dark roasted barley.

Taste: Some classic Stout elements, roasted barley, a mild cola taste, a slight sour almost lactic note at the finish. There is a slight metallic note, and something that keeps making me ask if there is a slight infection, which would explain the explosive head.

Mouthfeel: After the fireworks goes a little limp, and a little thin.

Overall: Not a great first impression from a new Texas brewery I'm afraid. I am regretting getting the full 6 but had to bite on the new offering. The carbonation issue has me off, still can't quite decide if it's infected or just over carbonated. The fact that it dies back to almost flat just took a lot out of the beer for me.

Why does everything from this brewery taste tangy? Stout should not be tangy. Undrinkable.

Pours an opaque brown color with tan colored head. Chocolate, roast, nuts, and some earth tones on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with roasted malt and a little chocolate.

a very nice stout. amazing head retention and a huge body make this go down easy. Fairly roasty malt backbone, but not acrid or harsh in any way. Very smooth
