American IIPA brewed with pineapple, mango, peaches, and strawberries. Poured from a can into a MadTree tulip. The pour is hazy and light orange in color with about a finger of fine white head. Average retention, but a spectacular nose. Tons of ripe tropical fruit, including oranges, pineapples, and strawberries.

Medium body with an oily feel and a fruity flavor. Fresh bread up front, then mango, lemon curd, orange zest, fresh peaches, and a little grapefruit pulp. The fruitiness is so prevalant, it almost eliminates the bitterness completely. Moreover, there is plenty of malt to provide sweetness. Finishes sweet and fruity with flavors of mango and pineapple lingering behind. At 8.7% ABV, it's in the right spot. There's not enough alcohol to make the beer taste boozy or overly sweet and medicinal. Overall a fabulous IIPA for those who enjoy citrusy beers with soft bitterness. A little pricey for what you get, but worth seeking out.

Pours a murky orange with a finger of white foam that forms dense and retains well. Aroma is orange, papaya, pineapple, strawberries, mango, and peach that all together form a pretty sugary smell. Biscuit and caramel malts give it a little sweet, nutty, breadness that tames the hops a bit. Flavor profile is mango, peach, strawberry and pineapple forming a tropical slurry. There is a hint of pine and resin syrupy hops, which give it a light bite. Biscuit and bread malts firm up the smoothie-like flavor profile a touch. Mouth feel is grainy, almost like a fine pulp, with a medium-thick consistency. All together, it forms a beer fitting for the label of "Pacific Punch". It's a slurry of tropical fruits with a light hop bite.

Served in a 16oz snifter from a 16oz can.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a dark orange color and an incredibly cloudy texture. There was a quarter inch of foamy head that lasted an average amount of time. Excellent lacing.

S: A sweet and alluring aroma of tropical fruit, hops, citrus fruit, malt, and peaches.

T: Tasted of a moderate amount of hops (less than expected), lots of tropical fruit (mango), light malt (not overly present), a bit of peaches, and some citrus fruit (lemon). This is a much more subtle flavor than II expected. It's hops presence isn't overdone, but the fruit slowly emerges the more you drink. Very tasty.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth and creamy finish. Medium-bodied.

O: An incredibly enjoyable NE IPA. Definitely drinkable.

Pineapple, mango, peaches, strawberry... Oh my! The brewing team at Decadent Ales are single handedly keeping the fruit market afloat by adding generous fruit flavors to an imperial IPA for that dedicated smoothie character.

Pacific Punch certainly packs a punch of fruit aromas as the melody of tropical, orchard and citrus swirl about the nose. A deep haze of amber and gold catch the eye along with a long lasting foamy creme that floats the ale. Sweet on the tongue, its the caramelized malts that stand out first with a toasted honey, nutty and overall grilled poundcake taste and weight.

But the stars of the show are the fruits and they rise to the occasion as the ale rolls onto the middle palate. A retreat of sweetness allows the hops to grow along with the fruit additions with the overwhelming character of peach, mango, papaya, apricot, pineapple and cantaloup. A secondary flavor of citrus relies on orange and red grapefruit with a subtle splash of lemon. Red berries trail with a candied succulence that plays opposite to the herbal bitterness of chive, fresh grass clippings and black tea.

Medium full on the palate, the lush ale carries a slight hoppy tilt into a medium length aftertaste of mulled fruit peels and rinds along with a botanical gin-like spice for extra measure.

This is my second attempt at enjoying a fruited DIPA from Decadent. Wasn't a big fan of the Double Tropical Smoothie, as one of the two cans I had tasted very plastic-like and the other was just a solid strong IPA with only very vague fruit flavors. I'm not one to hope for actual juice in a "juice bomb" NEIPA-style beer, but if you're advertising the use of pineapple, mango, peach and strawberry like this beer is... I kind of want to taste those things. Let's see what's going on with this one!

Pours a turbid orange color with a frothy yet compact head of bone-white foam that looks somewhat meringue-like. Dense, thick lace accompanies the slow decline of these bubbles to about a half-finger of residue. The surface is obscured by small islands of this very foam, as well, making for a heavy looking IPA fitting of the tropical melange of fruit I'm prepared for.

Grassy, dank and way less fruity than I imagined from the label description, yet again. Hmm... I mean, sure, I can pick up some mango and pineapple notes if I try to look for them, but this honestly has a very muted and muddy scent to it, as many NEIPAs tend to. It's yeasty and just as clouded as the body appears in a lot of ways. Some light peach and nectarine notes along with melon and rye-like spice come across here, too, so it does eventually start to get some interest going if left to open up a bit. As I mentioned in the foreword of this review, I'm not expecting it to be as juicy and cloying as, say, my first experience with something like Ballast Point Mango Even Keel or whatever, but I would prefer a bit more of a definitive approach to the scent here to really ground it in, well, decadence.

Flavor is a definite improvement, with strong flavors of blood orange, pineapple and mango/papaya right upfront, followed by a nice backing note of biscuity malt. The transition to the finish of each sip switches gears a bit, providing herbal hoppiness and resinous bitterness along with some spice and more of a "fruit gum"-like flavor toward the very finish. Lingering bitterness and pineapple flavor actually do help carry this one. The long-lasting oily fruitiness is pretty much what I had in mind from the second I read the text on this can in the store. Very glad they were able to salvage the boring olfactory element and turn this into a cool, engaging beer.

The feel is, as expected, quite chewy and rather thick. I would prefer it to be just slightly more crisp with a little more effervescence, but I understand the haze-craze thing going on here, and do feel as though it would be likely to lose a bit of character if it were, say, a percent and a half weaker and filtered. I would still definitely give that hypothetical beer a shot, however! This is pretty solid, overall. I will continue to give Decadent the benefit of the doubt... they don't make the best NEIPAs, but they do some pretty inventive and intriguing stuff with adjunct ingredients. It's awkward but lovable, in a sense. Worth a shot!

Dark, peachy haze to the body; relatively thin yet rocky and creamy head; plenty of sticky foam along the glass. Sweet, tropical fruit scent; a bit quiet; suggestion of lightly roasted grain. Mild fruity sweetness throughout the flavor, offset with a brisk and potent hop bitterness; boozy. Heavy body; smooth and velvety on the palate; prickly; mainly dry, primarily from the strong ABV.

Not bad at all for a hazy DIPA, but a tad disjointed. The smell is rather tame and the taste, while very good, just doesn't add anything really unique to things other than a bitter, juicy presence with some bold alcohol heat.

Very pleasantly surprized with this offering: for those that appreciate IIPA with stone fruit flavors, this one hits the mark and the adjuncts are spot on. Not as sweet as expected given the name. Worth a try for sure.

Hazy orange pour. Strawberry, orange, pineapple and ripe melon. Fairly thick and coating. Quite sweet through the swallow. Slight bittering hop bite on the finish. Not bad but the sweetness gets to be a bit much. My second beer from Decadent (citra citra) and both where too sweet. Well made but just not my thing.
