Pours an effervescent gold with 2 fingers of tight pearl colored head. Hazes as the can is drained. Pretty nice head retention & lacing

S: Cakey, a touch of apples & maple syrup once warm

T: A touch of maple syrup, cakeyness & dryness up front, leafy hops and a touch of golden delicious apple as well. A little maple syrup sweetness/dryness, more Golden Delicious apple. Finishes dry with a touch honey crisp apple, a little leafy hops

MF: Fairly creamy, medium body, skews too sweet/malty for my liking

Drinks alright, but glad I only bought one, this needs more bitterness

Appearance - Pours hazy and a light, slightly golden orange in color with an off-white, finger width head. Good retention before dying to a thin, somewhat consistent layer of suds with a fair ring around the edge of the glass. A bit of broken webbing, a few lines and small spotting make up the lacing.

Smell - Maple, sugar, fermenting citrus, slight spice and a hint of booze.

Taste - Follows the nose. Maple right off the bat, but also a bit of orange follows before delving into a deeper, more mature, almost fermenting citrus character. Finish adds a lot of residual sugariness, unfortunately. More balance would have been nice.

Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with fair carbonation. Slightly syrupy texture upfront, then gets drier and stickier as it reaches the finish.

Overall - Not bad, but a bit too sugary for my tastes. It does have a definite maple flavor, so points for that, and with some orange/grapefruit notes you'd expect from a DIPA, but not one I'd necessarily grab again, because it is so sugary in the aftertaste.

Cloudy and bubbly golden appearance, too fingers of white foam. Smells of maple syrup, slight hops, and orange. Taste is even sweeter, maple, sugared citrus, decent floral hops, and slight praline. Feel had decent hop textures, but the slight acidity and major sweetness is a little much

Far too sweet and syrupy to choose this again. I didn't think I had a maple limit. This exceeded it.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a yellow-orange color and a cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of maple syrup, hops, citrus fruit, malt, tropical fruit, and pine.

T: Tasted of little bit of malt (mostly in the finish), a hint of pine (gives it a little spark), a big shot of maple syrup (a dominant force), a moderate amount of hops, some citrus (lemon, orange), and a bit of tropical fruit (mango). One the more interesting DIPA flavors I've tried recently. Not as sweet as Decadent's Winter Spiced French Toast, but still delicious.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth, slightly syrupy finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A well made, easy to drink DIPA. Worth a look.

From the bottom of the can: "DECVT" (unreadable) "828"

Appearance: The beer is very hazy but not completely opaque. It has a ton of visible carbonation along with a lot of suspended solids and particles. It has a nice thick white head with good retention and lacing.

Aroma: The beer has a light maple syrup and brown sugar aroma. There is a light aroma of alcohol.

Taste: It has a strong flavor of maple syrup. A little bit of alcohol comes through after a while but those first few sips from the glass are divine.

Mouthfeel: It is very smooth and slick feeling on the palate. It feels a lot like the texture of maple syrup and it leaves a slickness in the mouth after each sip. There is a light bitterness to the beer.

Overall: The can states that this is a "Double India Pale Ale with Maple Syrup Added" and it hits it right on the nose. It has a very pronounced maple syrup flavor. Being in a Double IPA might seem a bit strange but the hop characters don't clash with the sweetness at all. It is mostly a sweet tasting beer with just a bit of bitterness. It's not something I would drink often but I would drink it again. It's well made. I would recommend it.

Pours a clear orange-ish straw with particulate suspended. Head is two fingers of white foam and retains well. Aroma is herbal, resin and citrus hops. Figs and maple syrup add sweetness alongside the hops. Flavor profile is herbal, sticky resin and citrus hops and sweet maple syrup directly behind. Maple syrup is abrupt and strong, but mold into the profile well. Mouth feel is pillowy and soft with a touch of effervescence at the end. It has a medium thickness. Overall, maple syrup is apparent and sweet, but folds in well without every being cloyingly sweet. A very novel NE IPA.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 16oz can.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent local release. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn/pine, honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, wheat, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, maple syrup, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn/pine, honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, wheat, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn/pine, honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, wheat, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, maple syrup, and bready malt flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight lingering resins/rinds. Minimal warming alcohol for 9.1%. Overall this is an incredible flavored NEDIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, maple syrup, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish, fanatically soft feel. Amazingly juicy, and lightly dank/earthy Citra/Mosaic hop profile; with perfectly balanced maple syrup, and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding spot on style example as expected. All of their NEIPAs are similarly impressive.
