16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 11/2019. Pours fairly hazy deep ruby red/pink/purple color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky light pink head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/sour/tart/tangy blackberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light toast/peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of blackberries, fruity/acidic yeast, sea salt, and pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big juicy/sour/tart/tangy blackberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light toast/peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy blackberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, red grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light toast/peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of blackberries, fruity/acidic yeast, sea salt, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/tart/sourness and tangy fruit balance; with zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tartness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 5.8%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited gose. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of blackberries, fruity/acidic yeast, sea salt, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish. Fantastic soft feel, mellowly lactic/tannic/saline. Outstanding balanced juicy/jammy berries and Lacto complexity; with a great pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Mild residual sweetness with crisp acidic/tangy dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected of the brewery.

Aroma is berries/blackberries, malts and slightly perfumed/musty. The flavor is berries/blackberries, malts, a hint of vinegar and a mildly sweet/tart finish.

Taking craft beer to the tangy and smoothie side of culinary art, Decadent Ale employs the use of blackberry and cream to mimick the effects of sorbet, yet manifested in beer form.

Pouring a deep burgundy, blueberry stained hue, Blackberry Sorbet builds a creamy neon pink swath of foam to expel a host of dark fruits, light pastry, vanilla cream and a sour twinge of red wine. A moderately sweet taste leads with the simplicity of taffy, cobbler and sweet cream as the sour ale gets off to a sweeter start.

But the bracing acidity waltzed onto the middle palate and chases away much of the sweetness. The sourness that it brings highlights the dark fruit, especially the blackberry flavors for a mix of sour berry cobbler and a lime laced smoothie. Lemon, gooseberry, crabapple, wine and cider all complement the mix while other nuances of black cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry and raspberry flavors aren't far off.

Medium bodied to start, the sourness creates a sharp, spicy and drying palate for a crisp, clean and highly refreshing session; one that's highly sangria-like but with a vanilla and cream type of body. Red wine shines in a medium short aftertaste and a racy, piquant finish.

From the bottom rim of the can: "DECBSS1-AI"

Appearance: The body is a dark red-purple color and has a cloudy opalescence that allows only light and large shadows through. The head is a frothy pink-purple short cap with good retention and lacing.

Aroma: It has a souring fruit scent with an aroma of raspberries. There is a bit of a sulfur scent to the beer.

Taste: It tastes like raspberries.

Mouthfeel: It is light bodied and tart. Carbonation is good.

Overall: The can states that this is a "GOSE STYLE ALE WITH BLACKBERRY" and there is definitely a berry presence, although it wasn't distinguishable as blackberry and came across as raspberry. It was pleasant and enjoyable. I could drink it again and I would recommend it to berry lovers.
