A - Pours a clear gold with a three finger foamy white head. Good amount of soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is Belgian yeast, apple, pear, lemon zest and pepper.

T - The taste follows the aroma with sweet malts, honey, apple, pear, clove and pepper.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Soft creamy mouthfeel with a dry finish.

O - This is a solid Tripel. The 8.4% ABV is well hidden making this an easy drinking treat.

Golden with a light haze, lots of champagne carbonation, and a finger of off white head.

Smells of apples, caramel, lemon zest, and a cellar like earthy quality.

Taste of candle wax, honey, grapefruit pith, and pineapple. Fruity with many complex notes. Candy glass at times. Overall its sweet. Its complex in that the first few sips revealed many facets of flavours, each sip different.

Medium, slightly syrupy body, medium low carbonation. It has a sticky quality.

I got this one in Vientiane, Laos almost a year ago and have been saving it. No special occasion, just really wanted a Belgian Triple tonight. Drank June 4th, 2016 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Another mystery. How do the Belgians do this ?
Instead of embarrassing myself with oaf-ish pretension, I'll cop-out this time and let MJ's "Great Beers of Belgium" do the talking: "The Tripel has a finish-orange tinge. In addition to the usual Pilsener mail, it has a lot of Pale Ale malt. The result is a teasingly delicate beer, dry but soft, and very long."
By the way, if you ever want to brew this stuff, MJ's 2 page review of Rulles will make it clear that it requires a special passion.
Also listed in the "1001."

750 ml bottle into chalice, bottled in 1/2015. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy bright golden orange color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, clove, light banana, honey, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and citrus/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, clove, light banana, honey, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of herbal bitterness/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, grape, pepper, clove, honey, biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/yeast/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from yeast spice and hop bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with and very smooth and lightly creamy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent tripel style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and citrus/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
